This 'fix' did not work for me. I needed to have the switch/valve/whatever replaced.benzo said:Well finally got the ride back. There is a switch on the intake manifold that tells the ecu if the runner is open or closed. Due to cold weather the switch may not be triggered by the runner. So elongating the mounting holes on the switch about 2mm will bring the switch closer to the runner piece that contacts the switch. POOF!! No more CEL.
The service manager said that that they had to make the mounting holes larger per tech line. I told him that as soon as a replacement part becomes avaliable I want it installed on my car. CEL on or off, I want it replaced. He said ok. So we will see what happens.nondual said:This 'fix' did not work for me. I needed to have the switch/valve/whatever replaced.

I guess the comforting thing is that it's not a fluke with just one car or the other. We've got matching boo boos.

Elongating the manifold holes is the automatic first step. I've never heard of it working, but they do it anyway...maybe like my dealer - to stall until they could get the redesigned manifold valve thingy...meha11 said:i had my intake manifold holes elongated about a month ago, untill this weekend there had been no more light. it's back on now, i hope its the gas cap this time. if its a new problem i'll post the info. i know we all know what the light looks like but here it is, it makes me sooooooo mad.
