RPI-Speed3 said:around 2500 miles currently.
jheer said:I'm at about 2,100 miles and the CE light came on today. I hope it is the purge valve. I could not get an appointment at the dealer until next Wednesday. Ugh. I'll post when I find out what is going on.
benzo said:1700 miles on my car. CEL just came on. Took it over to the dealer and they said they had to modify the intake. I have no idea what that means. I pick up the car in the morning. I will have some more info. I will let you know what they say.

TheMAN said:there have been multiple isolated cases of P2006 issues... on the non-turbo engines, replacement of the intake manifold is necessary (at present time) due to the TSCV position sensor being built into the TSCV electric actuator... on the turbo engines, the sensor is mounted separately from a vacuum actuator... elongating the holes is an attempt to position the sensor closer to the actual TSCV control rod's striker so that the sensor can produced a "closed TSCV" signal to the ECU
affected vehicles known so far are mazda3s, mazda5s, mazda6s, and cx-7s... this includes the mazdaspeed versions
the P2006 code means the ECU is not seeing the TSCV being closed and thinks the TSCV is stuck open... it is not catestrophic but may reduce low end torque and increase emissions
mazda engineers are working on a repair kit for this problem... it will be at least mid january before it is out and a TSB will be released then as well
jheer said:Thanks for the information. This totally sucks, though. I was stoked about the new Speed3 -willing to give Mazda a try since I have been a Nissan guy for years. And they already have a pretty big issue and no parts to fix it! That's incredibly WEAK! My CEL went off two days ago and has not returned, but I'm still going to take it to the dealer on Wednesday as planned and give them an earful.

Your cars runs ok right? It didn't leave you stranded right?
Pah...it's nothing. They will fix it, big deal. It a machine, they break.

Jheer- about Nissan, they suck, i sold my Titan cos the dealer couldnt fix anything, took 3 times to clear the tyre pressure warning light. last straw was when paint started peeling off the corner of the bed just by the back window. Again, Nissan suck, part french owned now too.
