2014 Mazda5 Touring
I started looking at the Mazda5 a couple of years ago and posted this thread a few months ago.

I have been going slow because of funding but my Grand Caravans mounting problems are forcing my hand. I am actively looking for a 5 and have the modification process in the works.

So am I correct in thinking there are no real differences between the 2013 and 2014?

Does anybody know anything about any dealers in SW VA? good or bad

Thanks.

Made my first accessory buy:

Hi John,

As far as I know there's no difference between 2013 and 2014, can't comment on the dealership since I'm far from you. It won't hurt to poke around yelp.com to see reviews although it's not always accurate. Do you feel comfortable in the 5 since you are pretty tall and the front seat movement is limited? I have a few friends who just can't fit in the driver seat.

I have been in the car and it felt fine. Since my legs are paralyzed and I dont use them to drive, I cross my ankles to keep them away from the pedals and kind of pull my back toward the seat. That probably helps with the legroom. I have finished negotiating with the worker's compensation company and this is a definate go. I need to find a vehicle I like and move forward.

I am thinking a Touring model and probably add the auto-dimming mirror and homelink. That leaves the biggest decision color!

I have the touring as well since I don't need the leather but I really miss HID headlight esp. I like to go to rural area doing activities with families. While color is subjective, the clear water blue is chosen to be on the brochure for 2012 and we immediately fall in love with it. I hope your purchase and the required equipment/add-on will go smoothly.

I have been wondering about the lights. I put Sylvania Silver Star bulbs in the headlights and fog lights on my Grand Caravan and have been quite happy. So touring it is. I am emailing my salesman right now to tell him, Touring, Deep Crystal Blue, Auto-dimming mirror with homelink and satellite radio.

Yesterday, saw a guy get into his Nova from a wheelchair. It was fascinating watching him break down the chair and pull the components across himself and put them in the passenger seat. How will you be getting in/out and storing your mobility device?

So I ordered it - Touring. Deep Crystal Blue, Sirius and Auto-mirror Homelink. The dealer might find one with more options but that will be the minimum. Also have the adaption parts on order. Now we wait some more . . .
