Finally Got My Alpine Nav Installed

I finally had some time this week between custom jobs to put my Viper Alarm in, which also made it okay to put my new Alpine INE-W927HD in. I'm not posting a how to...just gonna put some pics up. Pay attention to how the radio sits in the kit. This unit is a 7" screen that motorizes down for CD/DVD access. It ALSO allows you to tilt the screen. I hate the way it looks with the screen flat...then there's a fat lip behind the already fat lip in front of the radio. But tilt it down one step and it matches the factory angle and looks a ton better. This may help you when deciding what kind of radio to install in your car.

Radio face flat...notice the extra wide lip in front.

With a little more angle. I could put two ticks on but then the bottom buttons stick out a little, but the screen is flush with the dash kit.

My next goal is to figure out why my OEM camera is not working. I installed a 6v converter, basically a transistor with heatsink that drops voltage, and tapped my wires behind the radio. Not sure if I got the right wires and whatnot so I will work on that soon. Also, Cannot get my steering wheel module to program properly. I saw another post where they said use the same info as a CX-5 which I did, but the wire colors are not the same. I used the pin locations as my guide and I can get volume and track up is all. So I will work on that later since volume is all I care about really...and the bluetooth buttons.

Nice man,

Off-topic: how easy was it to install the Viper and which one did you use? I'm keeping an eye on the 3303.

I have my 5901 (5904 now) from my last car. It wasn't bad. There are a few wires that run to the rear bcm in the trunk behind the drivers side carpet (door and trunk triggers) and the front parking light wire is in the fusebox under the hood. The knee bolster doesn't come down without removing the console, which I did not do. But the wires under the dash are well on the kick panel and can be gotten to without much issue. Took me about 3 hours start to finish. I hope to be able to hook uP the remote start portion but I have to wait for a module that will not requiregiving up a key.

Awesome, I'm not interested in the remote start so the 3303 should be good for me. Though I may have to have someone else put it in.

Does locking the car with the stock keyfob set the alarm too or does it have to be the viper?

You want to use the viper for locks....you will set off the alarm by using the OEM fob. I would purchase your alarm from an authorized dealer that has to install it. It does not have any kind of warranty if sold online or over-the-counter.

Any idea if the commander knob will be of use.

Or better question, do you have a picture of the cables that come from it?
