Fastest Gone In Ur P5

just so everybody doesn't go running out to the dealers to say that they can't go 120mph...also consider where you live...for temperature, humidity, ALTITUDE, etc, etc...can make a huge difference...some of you guys that are further up north are probably at a higer altitude and you'll top off sooner...it just depends on the conditions....

Oh I use 93 instead of 87 for gas

Lucky...we use to have 92 here in so cal but they decided instead of putting more restrictions on pos like excursions and other useless behemoths they would knock down our octane a notch to 91...every octane counts.

That will sound stupid, but I couldn't faster than 100mph until I realized my carpet (the one I have to use in the winter) was too thick...man did I feel dumb. Now I have to make sure there are no cops around and test for max speed.

BTW, what tire size do you guys have? It may make a difference.

I've taken it just above 100mph but too scared to go to 130!!
130mph? that's 220kph!! if I get pulled over chances are the cops will impound my car and take me to the police station!

yeah...please don't do these kinda speeds in the city...when i did my speed test i was outside of the city on an empty stretch of freeway...

I've gone just a bit over 100, not trying to top out or anything. I forget where the revs were exactly, but it felt like there was still a good bit left in her.

I drive every day about 50 miles one way to work. I average between 70 to 80 mph, but I have instances that I done 100 mph. Unfortunetely, here in the U.S. is to dangerous since our roads are not built for speed like in Germany, plus if you get caught u know what the deal is going to be. So, be careful and don't be foolish when enjoing ur ride.

Top Speed

I topped out at 121mph last night with my friend while racing a 2002 Civic. My car is stock, running on 87 octane at about 105 degrees (it's hot here in AZ, even at 10pm!!!). I was totally suprised, because the civic maxed out 5 miles below me, and there were two of us in the car vs. 1 in civic!!!

I hit 136mph on HW 5 during one of my latest "speed runs"..hehe....oh boy.

wasnt redlining yet either.

Top Speed???

Hrrrmmm.. can't we easily figure out top speed (approximately) by using the tach? I mean it's pure math. Our redline is 6500rpm. So however fast you're going at 3250rpm, double it, and that's your theoretical top speed.

For me, 3250rpm comes at ~110km/hr. So at 6500rpm I could theoretically got 220km/hr which is 137.5Mph.

Isn't gearing fun? :) .. or am I using fuzzy math?

Yeah I5 is where I get all my speed runs in. I take trips down to L.A. all the time I hit 123mhp about 10 miles before Colinga. It was around 4700 rpms I believe but aerodynamics being what they are and with the wind on 5 The car just did not want to do more. Maybe next time the conditions will be better and the down hill section will be clear for driving faster.

In a MP3 with a mod intake, I've witnessed 120mph (approx 190km/h) @ approximately 5500 rpm. Not sure how much octane gas, but at least premium gas. Temperature in the high 80's F. Wind moderate to calm, not blowing against the car on the highway... maybe from behind or side. Fairly flat and straight road.

These are my top speeds according to the speedometer, which is probably isn't that accurate when the speeds get this high...

Top speed on flat = 120mph
top speed on uphill freeway = 115mph
top speed on downhill freeway = 130mph

I'll take pics soon to prove it..I have a couple pics at 100-110 mph of my speedo at night..it gets kind of hectic driving, watching for Pos, and taking the picture at the same time..but I can handle it..haha..so definetely, will take one at 130 soon
peace.

Ps. Actually, my main layout for my website is a pic of my Speedo..its like 100mph and thats only about 4800RPM
