Factory turbo's actual power output

Looking at all the mods that are available for the mazdaspeed(more each day), it seems as though it would put the factory turbo to its test. I've read that the t-25 is good up to about 250 h.p., is that how much the turbo can actually put out, or is that the greatest amount that the combination of it being on the mazdaspeed can be? If the mazdaspeed motor alone made 250 h.p., would the t-25 work? So I guess my question is, how much power can the t-25 make by itself?

 A turbo doesn't make any power by itself if that's what you're asking....

A t-25 on the MSP's engine is good for around 250 hp or so, after that it starts to loose efficiency and you need a bigger/higher flowing turbo.

from what i understand, the stock bottom end will blow before the turbo is inefficient. I hope to be making 250hp on the stock bottom end with dsms a/f controller in spring (winter sucks) at only 10 psi. Im sure the turbo could make alot more power than 250hp at 14psi properly tuned with a built bottom end. Ive ran mine a few times at 14psi running pure methenol and pulled the IAT sensor out. 3rd gears peels really nicely hehehe but definately would not go trying it out unless you have a spare motor or the funds to not have a working car tommorrow kinda thing.

dude your really trying to spread your engine across the road.

and yes the turbo is good for at best 18 psi,but the actuater is not good for near that.

and I don't know if anyone has a better one.

the stocker is good enough to hit 13.15 @ 105. and the highest mph of 107... Which is around 260-270whp. That was around 13-14psi.

and on a stock bottom end that lasted like 300 runs right? so maybe im not so crazy after all, not to mention a list of supporting mods to keep her in good shape and I try not to boost more than 9-10psi in 5th which im sure helps the motor alot compared to 14psi. I have nightmares watching that guys msp pinging down the highway going 12psi in 5th....(shudders)

If you free up the paths for the air going in and out of your car then the turbo doesn't have to work as hard. So if you free up your exhaust (3" turbo-back), Port/polish & match your intake mani, head, TB & turbo mani, get an IC w/ the least pressure drop and get a free flowing intake the turbo won't have to work as hard to get the necessary air into the cylinders (and will do it more efficiently). In that case, your turbo could be good for even more HP. What I am saying is there is no way to put an exact HP # on a turbo. I would say if you are going to go to anything above 12 psi get a GT28rs. It is dual ball-bearing and will spool up fast and will generate less heat than your stock turbo when they are putting out the same CFM (air flow).

I have more "supporting mods" than anyone here. lol

I don't know... someone has more than 2 short blocks and 3 heads sitting in their garage?

when are we gonna see a list of ur mods in ur sig ?
why,do I need to?

the name of the game isn't how much did you spend on your car,it's how well did you build your car, howw innovative were you,and how far out of the box did you go.

most of the things done to my car,are one off,or custom built by me.

speaking of, I need to post pics of my intake,I figure you guys might like it.

it's a 45 deg 60mm to 3 inch silicone,to a 3 to 4 inch transition 90 deg down with a 4" filter.

flows very well.

thanks to hoover at turbohoses for hooking me up with that=)

I've posted my list before...

Let's compare e-brain size..

you've posted your list?I guess I just wasn't paying attention.
doesn't really matter,because I'm interested,but don't really care.

I've seen amazing, and I've seen not so good,I appriciate it all.I chose not to post my list,so I don't have to deal with the"my dick is bigger then yours" b/s.

..........so I don't have a very big e-dick,so what.

my car aint slow thow, thats for sure.

Reworked the GT25 is good for over 330whp.
