Has anyone that's replaced their factory intake with an aftermarket SRI or CAI wondered why the hell the factory intake/air box is so huge? I just swapped mine for a Corksport SRI and I couldn't believe how much was hiding below the little filter box up top. I felt like I was pulling a clown scarf with more and more and more hiding beneath. With it removed, it made me wonder what else I could store in the massive void it created. It could almost be a front trunk or "frunk" as Tesla is calling it. Ridiculous amount of ducting beneath the little filter box above. My only guess is that it serves some sort of muffling or resonating effect.
All I know is I love the extra growl that the Corksport SRI produces. Highly recommended.
