Has anyone already installed the pipes or know anything about the company and the quality of the product before I buy the pipes. Thanks for the reply. I couldnt find anything in the search.

what do you get from hardpipes? just wandering, I just dont know what the advantages of having hardpipes are...

A few members have had them without many issues so far. Keep in mind these products are all pretty much new so not many people have put many miles on the parts and we won't know the true quality of them for a few years. BUT yeah, a few people have them and like them.

Can the people that do have them feel an increase in performance? Or just a few hp extra, basically is it worth the 500$?

youve got the wrong idea here... the hardpipes are preventative maintenance and not a performance mod. they allow you to run an aftermarket BOV and alleviate most, sometimes all, of the compressor surge as well as avoid splitting of the stock plastic pipes down the road. you might get a lil less pressure loss but thats all

hardpipes actually ARE a bit of a performance mod over the accordion plastic pipes we have - there is some loss of boost in the contraction and expansion of the accordion parts, and a straighter airflow path will aid in getting more air into the engine... It helps smooth out the torque curve a bit and adds a few ponies to the wheels. It also is preventative, and they look nice & perty as well :)

Edit: also, alleviating the surge a bit also helps the turbo to spool a bit faster, or so I've read in other threads on here...

I have Extreme Speed's pipes and I like them alot. Not too hard to install. The b**** was getting the stock pipes off.

I've heard Tiwing's car, and with the BOV, it sounds the way the car should.....sweeet!
It's worth the price right there, and they look awesome combined with the Injen.

(bird) www.essentialspeed.com should redirect to www.essentialy-stoned-out-of-our-canadian-minds.can with prices like that. If the aftermarket world starts pricing like this, it will make buying my welder a much easier decision. No thanks, for that kind of money I'll pass.

Before you make comments like this, maybe you should do some math so you keep eating Z3 and stop eating your foot.

Here's something copied right out of this thread:

Don't know US prices, but here's the breakdown in Canadian...

HKS SSQV: ~$400.
Recirculation fitting: $75
Flange: $60.
Silicon fittings (no idea, but it's not the cheap-ass plastic/rubber stuff), so say $40 including clamps.
Filter: again guessing at $40.
Injen CAI (closest I can think of for comparison): $400

ES's price in Canadian dollars is $1280.

That leaves $265 for 3 stainless steel pipes, mandrel bent elbows, and his time. I think that's a damned good deal.

Plus he includes a bracket for relocating the rad overflow, and the little things are thought of like adding a mount for the A/C valve by the TB and a new vacuum source for the wastegate to give the BOV it's own dedicated source off the manifold.

MS MSP: Thanks for the comment, but it's not perfect. Yet. :)

You can pick up the HKS SSQV with flange for around 220.00 US which is about 297.00 CAD

The recirculating fitting is 12.00 US which is about 16.20

So for you are about 221.00 CAD over estimating what these parts cost.

your forgetting that we canadians get screwed with border fees and tariffs... so his estimates were indeed accurate. ive ordered alot of things from the states and for direct comparison my HKS BOV was $190 US but once it got here and the dust settled i had paid $385 and change. thats before tax
