The custom MAZDASPEED Protege hardpiping kit can be used with the side mount intercooler setup. The kit is stock replacement and a bolt on installation. The kit will work with the Injen, AEM, Perrin, and OEM Intake Systems. This kit is a perfect replacement for the cheap OEM plastic intercooler piping which is prone to cracking. Cracks in the OEM intercooler piping causes hesitation and decreases drivability.

You where asking how the kit was set-up. Especially the location of the MAF. Here is a picture of my old set-up.

The ETS SMIC is a direct replacement of the stock SMIC. The pipes were directly hooked up to the SMIC. Hot Pipe - Turbo outlet to top of SMIC (inlet). Cold Pipe from bottom of SMIC (outlet) to intake mani. The HKS BOV located toward the top of the cold pipe.

The MAF was place between the two pipes of my Injen CAI.
