RIP MS6. NEW MS3!
whats up everyone, im getting ready to order my ETS tmic in the next 2 weeks and im wondering if the 3.5 inch ic will bang into the hood during agressive shifts. im only asking because i remember reading that people were having that same problem.
i noticed ETS discontinued the 3.5 and im guessing for that exact reason, however i still have access to purchase a 3.5 as opposed to a 3.25.

will the 3.5 bump the hood with an after market motor mount added to the mix?
will i be ok with the 3.5 ic and a motor mount without having to worry about bumping or rubbing the ic?????

An upgraded motor mount is a necessity with the 3.5" core. You might have some very, very ever-so-slight rubbing, but nothing major. I have a 3.25" with a motor mount, and have no problems. I am just relaying information I have seen around the forums.

The 3.5 WILL bang into the firewall on agressive shifts. The only way to stop this would be to cut the firewall. The 3.5 has no benefits over the 3.25 unless you upgrade your turbo. The gains are the same which is why most people stick with the 3.25.

Just got my 3.5 in last week. It bangs, but it's not loud, jarring, or violent like people make it sound. With the stiffened rear mount (inserts) I am sure it is not as bad as it could be.

In short, DON'T WORRY. If that's what's keeping you from purchasing, BUY IT.

why would cutting the firewall be the only way to stop it? thats just dumb. you could just as easily trim some off the back of the tmic shroud or put in a stiffened rear motor mount which helps. there are plenty of people running the 3.5 with out it hitting the firewall. plus there is more room behind there tmic in the speed6 than a speed3.

valid point regarding the turbo upgrade, i dont see myself swapping turbos. so i guess i may as well stick with the 3.25 to save a few bucks towards another mod.
as for the gains being the same.... are they exactly the same or within the same range??

you could also get the front motor mount..that would stop it for sure, ull get more vibration though so ive read
