My little 1.8l has been having a lot of issues lately without giving me a CEL or any soft codes. So while hunting for a fix I've stumbled across the chance to get a Japanese 2.0l with a 5spd trans out of 1998 626.
Anyone ever tried a swap like that? And would it actually work? Or am I better off continuing my "Try again until it works" repairs on the 1.8l?
For those who are interested, the issues I'm having on the 1.8l is hard starting, random and rough idle, ticking, hesitation, extreme rich mix, and ridiculously bad gas mileage.
