like the title says.my car is making a knocking noise wich sound like a rod. so i take it to my freinds shop(japtrix) to put it on there dyno, couse it only does it under a load. so we strap it down and do some pulls and found the noise is coming from the timing chain side of the motor. so we pull the valve cover and found that the chain has to much play. so only two thing could be bad. either the tensioner or the variable timing cam gear, wich is known to go bad on speed 6s and cx7s. car hasnt loss any power as to it still dynoed 290whp 311wtq but thats another story for another post.
anyone ever heard or have had these parts go bad before? any ideas as to what could have coused this?
