Ok so if anyone has an idea of what is wrong I would appreciate your thoughts. My car has been ideling weird lately. at a stop light it will be at abot 1k rpm then drop and raise every couple seconds. The light just came on this morning on my way to work. The only thing I have done to the car is an injen cai. I have been reading on here to realize my car is a piece. If anyone has had the same prob. and found out what it was, please let me know. Thanks.
Albert

Yeah, if resetting the ECU doesn't do it I would suggest taking it to the dealership. It's hard to diagnose problems through text.

Make sure the dealer is not going to worry about the intake in regards to warranty though.

Check on your transmission, on the backside (toward the cabin more), and look up... There's a large sensor bolted there, which is your neutral safety switch. That may have gotten damaged somehow. It happened to me. Whenever I came to a stop and put the car in neutral, the idle would raise to 1kish... Then when I pressed the brake, it would raise again to 1.25 - 1.5k. If I pushed in the clutch, it dropped back down to normal levels. That MAY be your issue, but it's hard to say without looking at it.

That sounds like what the NGK BKR7Es did to my idle, which is why I took them out after only a couple hundred miles.

thanks everyone,
I am going to try resetting the ecu and change out the plugs. If that doesn't help then off to good ol mazda for their "great" service.

If you do change the plugs, make sure that you gap them correctly.

What about MAF sensor installed backwards or damaged during installation on Injen?
I have had the injen on for over three months now and never had a problem until now. Could it have taken this long before it gave me problems?

I had the same problem it was because my air intake was lose on the turbo just tighten it down and 1 reset the car or just drive for a day it will auto reset

Ok cool I will check that as well.

I had a similar problem when I just had the CAI with the idling and hesitation at lights. Soon as a got a downpipe, new plugs, and it got less humid outside, everything works great.

I reset the ecu and the light was off for a while but came back on today at lunch. My car still is idleing between 1k and about 200rpm feels like it is going to die at stop lights. I checked the cai and tightened it up. Next stop auto zone to see what code it is throwing. Thanks for everyones input on here I really appreciate it.

Same thing happened to me, reset the ECU, checked for tightness, andit came back in. Guess I'll be going to autozone too.
