I got tired of waiting for someone to make a damper for our car, and the I think the weapon R damper kit looks like ass, so my father and I made our own.

Any helpful input will be appreciated, but not so much unnecessary flaming. Although, dumb comments are cool with me.

Thanks,

Thanks,
pretty nice! where do you find damper's like that?

Can you feel a difference with this? I've been thinking of making a set of these and offering to the community.

Do you feel a difference? When I replaced my motor mounts I could feel an immediate difference upon take-off. I wonder if this would feel similar?

I thought of the same thing, but I'm not sure of actual intrest anyone has.

There is plenty of interest in this kind of product. See this thread here:
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123647705

The company (Ingall's) have gone through a few changes and have not really been able to get around to developing a damper for our cars. A few people have been talking to them but it looks not much progress is going to be made in the near future.

Remember, a product such as this would have applications across the whole 3rd gen range of cars and would not just be limited to the MSP.

This makes me want to renew my AMM status and get busy with this project. I'll research the damper/strut tomorrow.

I'm running right now with just the front mm replaced (AWR), and the damper. On the softest setting, there is a noticeable difference, but on the stiffest setting, you can feel the power going directly to the wheels. Especially on take-off. I like it alot! The best part is; no crazy engine lash and vast reduction in vibration!

I want to take the awr mm off and put the stock one in to see what happens.

That looks almost the same as the Weapon-R damper, except for the brackets. What brand is the damper/bushings? I am content with the Weapon-R, looks better without their sticker on it haha.

Creative man, good job.

*Edit* It is Ingalls, sorry about that. I saw an application on their site for our cars? Hmm

i'd be interested!

If enough people want a kit, I can put in for amm status and get the ball rolling as soon as tomorrow. I've been riding around for a couple of weeks now and becoming confident in this design (this is my second design by the way).

It will be a good way to fund future projects for my car and I'll likely give some of the money back to the forums.

I just bought an ingalls damper by itself and went from there. They got camber bolts or something for proteges but no engine damper kit.

Ingalls makes a good damper.

Check out the other thread - there are definitely plenty of people interested.

Might be worth linking that thread to this one or better yet, starting a whole new thread once the R&D is up and running.

Note: I will definitely want one of these, especially if it is adjustable (thumb)

I'm interested, IF it reduces the vibration with the AWR mounts at low rpm.

finally decided I was gonna offer these out. I'm finishing up auto cad drawings on final design now.

What I'll probably do is send one or more out to someone to test it; that would wrap up R&D and give me a second point of reference of how well these will work. until then, I don't want to put anything out there until I know these brackets have met a standard.
