Can anyone give me a quick direction of where my air filter is?? I've done it on my other cars no problem. But the Quicky Lube guy said $20 and I said NO WAY! So now i need to know where it is located so I can do it (braindead

It is on the right side in front of the battery on my 2006. You will have to remove some of the plastic components which is held on by plastic clips and the battery cover. At the bottom of this picture you can just see the top of two spring clips for the filter cover. It will take you 10 minutes to change the filter if you have not done it before.

$20 is a good price. The cheapest I've seen here in Toronto is $25 at Walmart!!! Everywhere else is closer to $30 for some freaking pleated paper and a plastic frame!!!

I bought a K&N drop in filter and has been using it for the last 3 years with only one cleaning. You can get it from Canadian Tire when they have it on sale, usually 25% off. If the counter person cannot find it for the Mz5, it is the same filter used for the Mz3. Remember to keep the old filter around so you can use it when the K&N is being cleaning.

Yeah, these aren't $6 round filters like your dad had on his 1976 Nova 2bbl. $20 with labor is really pretty good. BUT a lot of times these guys show you a really dirty square filter that they claim is yours and in reality, they've shown it to 100 people this week already.
Get out the Phillips screwdriver & pull off the air thingy that goes to the battery box from right behind the grille & under that is your air filter.

$20 for a full service filter change is not bad at all. Yes it is an easy DIY effort but if you want someone to do it for you then there's a price to pay. The filter alone cost ~$10 (if not more) so the mechanic makes ~$10 (if not less). How much would you want to pay the guy?...

Just do it yourself so that you know how to check your own stuff and do basic maintenance. These cars will dirty up one end of the filter first. You can flip it around and get some more life out of it. I flip mine about every 7,500 miles and replace at about 15,000. In general, it stays pretty clean.
