Endless Summer - Build Thread

more progress

i got a little further with the tear down today. the trani’s been pulled, the harness is strung out, and a good deal of the firewall has been stripped down. the end goal is to get the whole bay stripped down so that it will be easier to rebuild the systems keeping the bay as clean as possible. im going to test fit the major components then prep the bay to be sprayed.

its going to be fun trying to get the wiring set up all cleaned up and back in working order.

one recent development is how best to set up the brakes. i’ve decided to do a full custom wilwood brake set up complete with peddle assembly, individual master cylinders, braided lines, front 13′ rotors with 6 piston calipers, rear 11.75′rotors with 4 piston calipers, and a custom hydrolic ebrake. these brakes will be the same brakes used in the aac kits. it should be a sick set up once we get it all drawn up.

Such a nice car man. My absolute favorite Spicy Orange MSP in the world and has been. You posted a pic I had as my background for probably an entire year.

thanks hornsfan - and everyone else - its been a long ******* road but im dead set on getting her rolling for summer and the more i get her stripped down the closer i get to getter her back together :)

almost got the harness out, just have to wire in a 12 pin quick connect for all the rear wiring. should be way easier to run the stock harness if it comes to that.

finally got around to getting the front lamps rewired - a big part of this work is creating clean harnesses for each bulb in each headlight. here is what the looms look like. all wires will be channeled through the fender wells so that the bay remains clean.

<a href="http://www.aggressiveautoculture.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/aac_spicy_wiring_003.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1022" title="aac_spicy_wiring_003" src="http://www.aggressiveautoculture.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/aac_spicy_wiring_003.jpg" alt="" width="1280" height="720" /></a>

nice close up of the loom and the end wrap. each harnesses will end up being wrapped together so that all passenger headlight harnesses route back on the passenger side of the car and driver harnesses pass back on driver side of the car.

<a href="http://www.aggressiveautoculture.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/aac_spicy_wiring_001.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1022" title="aac_spicy_wiring_001" src="http://www.aggressiveautoculture.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/aac_spicy_wiring_001.jpg" alt="" width="1280" height="720" /></a>

close to final look on passenger side. harnesses route will change slightly once the headlight plate gets welded in. the idea is that a plate with a hole in the center will be welded in just under the headlight. the harnesses will route through this hole keeping the harnesses in the correct location while obscuring the wires and ballast below.

All these beautiful parts have been sitting for close to 4 years now. Got motivated and pulled an all nighter. Heres some pics for now as I got a timing belt and turbo to do on a STI. Stay tuned for updates!
