I did a search but could not come up with some hard information. Do we have emissions testing here in Texas during inspections?? I want a dp and am debating catless... Also, if anyone knows a *cool* shop in houston that would go easy, lemme know.
Yea we have emissions in Houston but if you got to the smal surrounding towns and get it done like where I live in Dayton they just look under the car and make sure you have a cat but they don't molest your exhaust.

Question 2 Emission checking.
Answer - This is divided into counties. Harris County does emissions while Galveston does not. This is based on you residence. You just need to check if your county requires it. Check at a local jiffy lube, they should know. Also emissions or not, when they run the safety test (done on all cars) for specific year ranges they check for cats. I believe cars that are 25 years older than the current year do not require a safety check for cats. So I believe that you will have to have them unless you can talk to the inspector.
(headshake you have to get the car inspected in the county that your residence is, so he wouldn't be able to go to dayton and do it unless he lives there..
