emblem color advice

need some advice before i do this:

i have a black 02 ES. i was planning on recoloring my emblems (front and back) in gunmetal. originally i had planned to powdercoat the stock wheels the same color as the emblems...

then i noticed that the "Protege" on the trunk is a solid piece (the spaces within and between the letters are colored black) and would end up as a solid gray shape that would be tough to read and would probably look odd on a black car. so now i'll probably do all the emblems in gloss black w/ a clearcoat so the parts btw the letters don't stick out so much.

whaddaya think?

edit: i'm not doing red, yellow, blue, orange, mauve or anything like that. i MAY paint the Protege accent symbol red, tho.

i plan on doing mine in black soon, also. I want a stealth car look. this past weekend, i "nite-shades"-ed my tail lights, and this summer I plan on the getting the windows tinted.
