Email I recieved from Pauter Forged Rods

Mr Marrero,
Thank you for your inquiries into our rods. We agree you should have all of your questions answered before you spend your money. To begin with, the rod, as designed, will handle all you require in terms of strength. They are currently being used by a large number of highly competitive and well-known racers in just about all forms of competition: drag, road course, rally, etc. with overwhelming success. While Our rods will work with the factory pistons, generally speaking, factory pistons are of a cast configuration and are not recommended for much more than 10psi. An aftermarket forging such as JE or Wiseco would be a more favourable choice. The rod itself will easily handle 30-40psi of boost assuming you are capable of correctly tuning the engine for high-boost pressures.
The rods come complete with 220K psi bolts and are fully shotpeened, end-to-end balanced and ready to install. We do have rods in stock for your Mazda. You did not tell us what area you are in, so we can't send you to a local distributor, but you can buy directly from us. Give our sales team a call or fax at 619 422-5384 (619 422-1924 fax.)
Thanks

I not worthy(bowdown)

I am confused though what company is this from?
Now all we need is a group buy for Piston and Rods!
Pistons need to be 8:5:1 and then my motor would be ready minus I need new valve springs, cams, and adjustable cam gears while I am at it. I figure if I got it all apart you might as well go all the way. OK my engine would not be ready with just pistons and rods but it would be a good beginning thanks for the post Rican007:D

EDIT

I was so excited I forgot to read the title. I now know what company they are from!:)

I think they are only hogh compression pistons. Can these rods be added alone to a turbo engine?

yeah, we have high compression pistons available, but they're looking for stronger pistons that keep the ratios boost friendly.

you can add the rods to a turbo'd FS, but they reccomend you add stronger pistons while you're at it. -see above letter

You guys are welcome. Good thing I'm into bugs and found the site. I'm currently building a VW type 1 engine for a vintage 550 spider kit car. this is how I found the site

Why is it so hard to find pistons. . . . all you have to do it call JE, they will make what ever you want. . . 8:1, 14:1, 20:1. . . . the pistons will be design for your appliation, boost levels, rpm, etc. . . $400-$500 will get you pistons, pins, retainers, and rings. . . .

I just figure if you get a group and purchase a decent quantity from JE for same application (per say a spool stage 3 kit) they may give us a good deal. You never know it might be worth a shot.
