well, i just got my blue mp3 about a month ago and so far i like it, not used to it as i had a jacked up 79 bronco before that but the 6mpg was killing me...

anyway i saw these on ebay...and i don't know if they actually help...i mean there cheap enough and prolly wouldnt do any damage if i installed but i was wondering if theyd actually help.

1st... grounds..

My personal opinion is No..and No.
You will get varies Opinions..but I beleive money could be better spent on other things.

In my opinion, for the 20$ (not even, 12 really) that you will spend on the electrical, I would say why not. People often dont think that a better spark isnt neccicary or worth it because they dont feel or hear a imediate change.

Sparking is one of the most important part of your engine, it should be upgraded if you're modding your car.

I'm not sure how well that capasitor will work for 5 bucks though.. I would read up on that one first.

1. Welcome to the boards/MP3 section :)

2. I wouldn't bother with the capacitor, but that's a decent price for ground wires, and can't hurt your car.

3. Don't bother with the turbonator as it is a TOTAL waste of money. Anybody who has a positive comment in the comment section never actually tried it (all negative comments are from people who called BS on the results).

4. Throttle body bypass is a great deal as the price is about what you would pay for the kit if you bought it yourself. HOWEVER, if you are in a climate where it freezes, don't bother unless you plan on either taking it off during the winter, or plan on doing a valved bypass which I would like to do this summer. Just don't believe their claim of 8whp, it will be less then 1 but that's a very cheap 1hp :)

5. Invest in a catback and a high-flow midpipe before using the cams as you wouldn't take full advantage of them until you have a better flowing exhaust. Also, may I suggest a lightweight crank pulley made by Medieval (aka: Brach) in the FS section which is ~the same price/cheaper which isn't underdriven...

Thanks for the ebay links I bought the ground kit. And to answer your questions, Yes and not sure.

It is true that ground kits work. They won't "give" you horsepower, but will help things run more smoothly. Just because something comes from the factory as "adequate" doesn't mean it can't be improved. With better grounding you'll get cleaner audio from your stereo, stronger lights all around, smoother idle and other things. Now if you're car is a piece of crap that you don't take care of, then yeah, you may notice more power, but that's because you were robbing hp before the install. I'm still looking into the voltage stabilizer and there are places selling the same thing for over $100.

isnt the racing beat catback pretty good?

and for the throttle body bypass..

i live in north texas and if it freezes here then its maybe 3 or 4 days a year.

also by midpipe do you mean the pre cat area from the manifold down?

if so the header should replace that.

racing beat catback is quite simply the bomb, unless of course you want to have a noisy exhaust, in which case it's the worst exhaust ever...
considering where you live, go ahead with the bypass
and no I mean the pipe between the "downpipe", aka j-pipe (which is just under the canister pre-cat, both of which are replaced with the header) and the catback.

also ive heard of these cars making a clunk? right now my struts are so bad i couldnt tell you if i have it or not..., but theyre getting replaced soon and i would like to know where to get the clunk fix bracket

also can you recommend a good midpipe? i wouldnt like to spend over 100 on something like this

Just so you guys know, what you're refering to as the "pre-cat" is actually the main cat. The second cat is a clean up cat. That's why removing the main one will cause the CEL to illuminate. If you remove the secondary, your car won't even know. However, removing either is illegal (if you get caught).

Check the AM/AVV section under suspension for AXR clunk fix bracket.

^funny how everyone else on these boards say otherwise when it comes to which cat does what...and the logic behind what the explanation for the pre-cat is makes perfect sense...

Oh man, how could I be so stupid! lol

No seriously. The second O2 sensor is placed after the first cat, not after the second cat. The only reason to have a second O2 sensor is to make sure the cat is working. So then why is there no sensor after the second cat? I really haven't seen much discussion on this, that's why I was intrigued when culridr said what he did and the function of the precat.

I'm not sure why they don't have one after the 2nd cat, since apparently if you put a header in, the best way to get rid of (or never have) the CEL that is normally created from taking out the precat is to put one O2 before and one after the 2nd cat.

The reason the precat is there is to act as a main cat converter while the 2nd one warms up shortly after turning on the car (the hotter it is, the quicker it warms up, which you can see would happen when having it just under the manifold).

Now the one thing I don't understand is how exactly it (the precat) acts after the warmup period...it surely is still effective, but I don't know to what extent...
