Electric haywire

I thought I would write a thread to explain all my electronic issues I have right now and see if anyone else is experiencing them.

It all started when the blower motor comes on to max when turning off the vehicle. I have the replacement relays on their way, so I just let the blower motor issue keep going while I wait for the new relays, should be here any day now. While waiting, my passkey system starts to not lock and unlock the vehicle automatically, nor can I lock or unlock from the door/hatch buttons. I then noticed the KEY light staying lit. I replaced the batteries in both FOBs, but still no love. When I shut or open the doors the vehicle communicates with the FOB because I see the red FOB light flash. I am able to unlock/lock the car doors using the FOB buttons and am able to start the car with the FOB in my pocket.

Last night I get the bright idea to remove the battery cable for 30 seconds and re-apply power. Of course this did not fix the KEY light issue, but now I have an additional problem. I had to reload my original map disk to get the NAV unit to work and then I put in my Western Europe (WE) map disk and the NAV unit does not want to work right. I try to add destinations and it will not allow me to select cities or streets, I try to select a memory point and it exits me out into the main menu, and while driving it just decides to switch from audio back to the nav menu screen. I did look at the WE disk and it is scratch, likely caused from spinning inside the NAV unit.

WTF!!!!! Does anyone have a solution for the "KEY" light and does anyone have a backup of a WE NAV disk as I was not thoughtful enough to back mine up ahead of time?

I can't help with the electronics, but if the scratches aren't too deep in the map disc you might be to get them out with car polish or rubbing compound. Or you can
buy a product specifically designed for removing scratches in cd-rom discs.
