Ehaust/Muffler

I here a lot of people talking about ehaust, and CAT_back, and run a header with the exhaust from the header back, But I don't hear anyone talking about a performance muffler, or is there such a thing, or maybe the exhaust usually includes a high performance muffler???? Can anyone help me with this situation, or recomend a high performance muffler??

most cat back systems that in have seen come with a "performance" muffler. that said, often times you can achieve the same gains by adding just the muffler. with a cat back, you are paying for stainless steel that is polished to a chrome like finish. that is nice if you show your car. if you don't, you can save some cash by finding a muffler you like and having you local shop weld it on.

I don't think you'll find many mufflers that ad any HP just by changing the rear muffler alone. You usually have to change either the bends in the whole exhuast system then add a muffler or have a system with larger diameter piping. But a muffler alone will only ad 1 maybe 2 hp, it mainly will change the way you car sounds and looks.

What kind of set up's are people running and how is the performance. I'm thinking of running an AWR header with an HKS exhaust kit. Anyone have a similar setup, or ecommend a setup.
