This is just a thought , why is there not any one out there trying to just hack in to or steal the sofeware that we need to to manipulate the ECU to do what we want or need to do to our MSP's. I do not like the ideal of having to cut or splicing a damn thing on anyhting I own ! Hell and 600 dollars for that piggy back that spool has or is coming up with is nice. BUT HEY ! 600 dollars for something you can't just plug in?(screwy)

Anyway I would much rather hear something about some software and firewire for 600 dollars.(dunno)

the software to manipulate the coding in our ecu's is expensive....no real market to spend that much on it...hence no aftermarket flashes or eprom chips

Because that is illegal. (poke)

(gossip) . . . some of us work for the POlice!

wow, amazing idea here.....

SPOOL has been outta business for a few months now. please spend some time in the Engine Tuning/Management section...

Thats a good thought...but I guess the main reason is the MSP aftermarket. No one wants to spend the time or R&D to "hack" our ECU. My guess is the limited production numbers. Wont sell as much as the hondas, WRX, SRT-4, EVO or 240s out there

Although many have tired and are still trying...spool and there emanage (I heard it only works on the MP3s and P5s...not sure). Right now several companies offer what seems to be "legit" piggy backs. Cocksport has a piggy back but expensive and I think someone else may come up with one (curcit sports?). And Prefwork is working on a PnP AEM unit. That should help alot of our problems. And rumors are a new reflash will be out this summer.

Apexi wanted to look at a MSP...but I think it was only for a new exhaust system. I tried to contact them about taking on our emu. I would fork some good money for apexi SAFC. By the way never heard form apexi after they posted about wanting a MSP...anyone have updates?

Yeah spool has been closed for a few months but terry (spoolinMP3) still hangs around the FI section. I think hes done with the MSP for good but did say he might consider tackling the emanage thing in his spare time...I think

from an apexi rep: "there is no ETA on that exhaust."
and, here's the kicker: "the SAFC2 reads in the 0-5v range"
-thanks to dan at www.importparts.com

:'( I really want a SAFC2...one of the best bang for your buck piggyback...with knock meter! If I can get my hands on one for super cheap I might take a trip over to titan motorsport to see if they can make it work...Titan can make anything work (almost).

Our performance shop has an 'in' with Digital Horsepower Inc. - they are reprogrammers for OBD-II many late model GM vehicles. http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PFYC&Product_Code=GP3012&Product_Count=0&Category_Code=GPUNDER

As already mentioned, the market for our application is limited due to the fact that we have limited production vehicles. Thus, it might not be worth their time to try and 'crack the code'. Moreoever, the amount of effort that they put into tuning the cars is very extensive and time consuming (i.e. dyno testing, relibability over time, etc.)

Nonetheless, I'll speak with the Canadian programmer to see if anything can done.

Just thought I'd mention it. :)

Cheers.

Gzzzzzzzzzzzz People wake up ! Terri (I think) from spool has a piggyback now JUST FOR MSP for $599., Thats why the Blazen said SPOOL! ! !

When did terry offered emanage for the MSP? This would be kinda big and I would have thought I caught it. All I saw was the emanage link closed by Linux cuz he said spools out. I thoght I heard terry was going to try to work on the MSP in his spare time but that was awhile ago. I think you were mislead by that thread that was brought up from the dead...the one Linux closed. Or maybe Im a bit slow on the news.

This is a quote from the force Induction section when Terry opened up the emanage library:

Yea, I think its the difference between the ecu's because terry tried one on an msp, and it had the same problems.

You've got control over fuel w/ larger injectors and whatnot, timing, can do boost cut maps, lots of other stuff. We're just getting started on trying things with my car :)

Yes not much luck with the MSP

But it works great on the MP3/PRO5
So did he finally got it to work for the MSP?

Interesting.......now make sure you call the fbi because the police have no jurisdiction over that :P

Your not the only one who works for the police. Well actually I dont I just work for the feds.

Terry CONCLUDED that it will NOT work with the MSP...can't find the thread..

Turboge succesfully and efficiently got the Haltch to work...he then tried the emanage (in and around the same time as Terry) and also concluded it will not work.

Hiboost is shortly coming out with a Haltech setup for the MSP.
