I called the dealership to schedule an ECU flash and the service guy told me that it would void every bit of warranty that I had. If this is true, is there any other way to advance the timing? If it isn't true, how do I get the dealership to do the flash. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

LOL this has to be the best one I have heard!

Tell me what dealership said this, I will place a professional calm call and inform the dealer as to the facts. The crack pipe must have been pasted around prior to your phone call...

This is a new dealer low. They don't know there head from a hole in the ground and are completely unaware, uneducated, and unhelpful. I can't believe how many posts on this matter are about how the dealer is essentially trying to find a way to screw owners. If I were you I would write a very strong letter or make a call to MNAO. I'm angry for you:mad:

They are wrong, that sums it up.

If you beleive that YOU are the biggest moron on the board!
It is an ECU re-program designed by MAZDA to fix a problem with the car!:bs: :wtf: :wtf: :bs:
I personally want that dealers name and number so i can go and smack the s*** out of whoever told you that!
Matt:mad: :wtf: :bs:

God Damn, i hate Dealer bulls***. They'll tell you ANY ******* THING to avoid free work!

Dude they are all right....it total bulls***. Please post the dealer and I will absolutly call first thing in the morning.

wow that really pisses me off. the ****** update comes from MAZDA THEMSELVES> **** your dealer , go in there and shoot them all up with paintballs, ****** pricks

OMG I just realized this is in my town. Let us know what dealership told you this so I can personally screw them over by contacting MNAO. Thanks!

(lol) :wtf:

What are the symptoms for the hesitation problem? Whenever I shift quickly I get what seems to be a large drop in boost and my car bogs down then studders and starts accelerating again.

Looks like my bro and I will be giving the San Luis Obispo Mazda dealership a call in the morning. We both have the same problem.

at least they claim to be a mazda dealership, i call the one in my area and they are like "mazda?" "no this is a bmw dealership, we don't sell mazdas anymore." then i'll go down there, and they still sell mazdas, i have given up calling them.. thats what happens when you have a BMW/Mazda dealership..you get s*** and shittier

NEWSFLASH FROM MNAO:
(9/29/03)

Buying a Mazda automobile from a Mazda Certified Dealership WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. Please do not buy a Mazda automobile, unless you are willing to waive your right to a warranty! MNAO CANNOT afford to absorb the costs of actually traning dealerships to service our vehicles, therefore we have decided to eliminate and terminate all outstanding warranty service on all our vehicles. We are not really sorry for any inconvience this might cause.
