Ebay Intake question

I know there are a million threads on the ebay intake, and Becuase of them I have decided to give it a try (Im a poor ass Mo Fo!). My question is this, Since everyone I see has the blue fittings, does anyone know if I can paint the fittings. I would like to paint them red or black, so that they fit with the car better, but I have no Idea if the paint would even stick. Thanks for any info you have for me.

guess nobody ever painted them before. my guess is that if you use the right paint it can be done, though it has to be heat resistant and flexible. wanna be the ginuea pig?

WOOT hey its my engine bay :) I feel so honored.

You could possibly paint them, just have to get some paint that can adhere to rubber and not flake or crack off.
A more expensive but better long term solution would be to find a place that sells the boots. Sure there is one around, just can't recall any.

i was actually thinking about this(i have like 7 turbo fitting that are red and i want them to be blue. so free bump!

my friend actually bought an ebay intake for his p5 and they came with yellow fittings even though the pics werew blue. ....i guess ti might luck of the draw

u can paint it from what i have read b4. just the standard things, sand, prime, paint, clear coat... but im not too sure. might wanna wait for more feedback peace - chris

L8R he is talking about the boots, can't sand them :)

Thanks KYMP5, though there was a place out there to buy the boots.

you can get them cheaper from hose techniques! under the turbo fittings!!

oh yah joka1, i remember seeing that b4. REMillers, yes i know he meant the boots and not the piping hehe :) but thanks for the info. oh well wutevers, you wont need to paint them anymore since u have two sites to look at now, peace - chris

i still want to paint them since i have like 6 adapters for my turbo and a few of them change sizes, there expensive!!

you got a link for the hose techniques. if i can i will lower the prices on mine.

Yes measure the ID or Insdie Diameter, as measuring the OD will not be extact as some boots or hoses can be thicker than others.

i found out why the prices on my site were raised. he raised the price to coover the drop ship fee but i can bypass that by having them shipped here first. i also just put a stock order in for some more. i could probably go as low as 7.99 for you all but i may piss my boss off. oh well he'll get over it.
