I thought that I would introduce a new product that I came across on a few of the Probe and MX-6 websites a little while back.

- Slotted, drilled, and plated 11.7" rotors (versus 10" stock rotors), 0.81" thick.

- High performance Wilwood "T-compound" brake pads.

- Wilwood 4 piston billet aluminum calipers

$749 USD

Replacement pads cost ruffly $50...and replacement rotors are about $100.

They currently only offer the slotted + drilled rotor. The rotors are zinc plated.

ABS still works perfectly.

Not 100% sure on the fitment for an MSP.

You can use your stock brake lines...or source your own SS lines.

This company is offering a great alternative to many of the brake kits that are available to date. I have personally been looking for an affordable solution...without having to go CRAZY on a brake solution. I am a FIRM believer that when you increase your HPs by a significant amount that you should increase your braking performance also. Everything should be in balance.

The great thing about this kit is that its a great combination of increase performance....good looking...and at a great price point. I know it sounds like a commercial....but I have had the opportunity to talk to the owners in detail about the product. I have also been doing my research on this topic for a long time.

I have ordered a set and will have them sometime next week. I will be sure to (as i usually do) post pictures of the product. I am not 100% sure when I will be putting them, on due to the weather.

E-Racer does offer a group buy option and I would contact them directly to work out the details. (great price on the GB) I have invited them to visit this board and I am hoping they will soon.

If you have questions...I will do my best to find the answers (until they join the board).

Do those calipers have the dust covers? I dont feel like having to get a rebuild every year or so.

my guess...is no. based on all the calipers that wilwood offers....none of them have dust covers. i will ask...

Every year, try every 3 months, or less. :D Im interested, if they fit the MSP, and have dust covers. :D

I don't know where you heard that before that you have to rebuild the calipers every 3 months. I know many people who run these calipers on Integras, neons, etc. for more than a year and they never had to rebuild them. Plus most Big Brake kits come with Wilwoods because they are lighter which saves you weight and look much better. The only ones that come with dustboots are the stock ones. I don't think any aftermarket calipers have them. We all know that there are things we have to sacrifice for modding our cars and for what they are it's a tiny sacrifice.

I have yet to get this kit as planned (engine build up...took up my time).

But...one of our local members installed them and the ease of installation was unbelievable.....very straight forward.

Here is a pic....note the RX-8 Rims.

I was told the same thing when I purchased my Wilwoods, but I also knew better. No issues at all.

Does the protege 5/ES have floating calipers? If I did an upgrade I'd like to get 2-4 piston calipers. I don't know if anyone sells cars with other than floating calipers.

Which kit do you have? It doesn't look like the E-racer kit.
