E-Brake problem

I have a 2005 3 hatchback with just over 100km on it. I changed my rear pads about a month ago, but have since noticed that my ebrake is only working on the passenger side. The cable is moving and putting some pressure on the driver side but not enough to hold the tire. Is there a way to adjust the cable?

I do know how to adjust the ebrake handle in the console but as far as I know that only adjusts both cables.

Thanks in advance for any help(spin)

I'd start by inspecting the drivers side caliper!
there isn't a left/right adjustment!

Ya I've checked the caliper and re-lubricated the pins but they were fine and didn't make a difference.
I read in another post that when you use the tool to turn in the piston when you change the pads it also re-tightens the ebrake cable. Does anyone if this is correct? If so, would re-adjusting the piston help me at all?

our calipers use a ratcheting action to engage the parking brake throughout the lifecycle of the brake pads - that is why you need to turn the piston when pressing it back into the caliper. rotating the piston should have no effect.

did you confirm the cable action at the affected caliper?

When you pull the parking brake lever in the car - can you physically see the cable working at the caliper the is not engaging?

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, the cable does move, it just doesn't apply enough pressure on the pads to hold the tire on the driver side.

Is there a manual way to make the ratchet action tighten the cable?

The brake pedal engages both brakes equally, it's just the e-brake that is loose on the one side.
