Dyno pull results

I'll get pdfs posted Monday; I am sorely disappointed. IN fact someone s*** in my Cheerios.

92* ambient/outside temp
60% humidity

3 pulls, first in 4th, 2 and 3 in 5th as tech guy said that was my 1:1, hood closed fans in front, but it wasn't those massive fans, it was the 15" tall or so fans with a little long oval outlet sort of 'aimed' fan.

It was a Dyno Dynamics dyno.

DSC off b/c the tech said w/o traction assist off, I don't know, 'machine goes nutty' or some s***. Can ya tell I'm a sad panda yet?

Here's why:
I pulled 227.3hp on the best pull (I just have a printout of the 3rd pull).

That pull also yielded 319tq at 4000rpms.

12psi boost at 3400rpms curve to max of 13psi at 4100rpms back to 12psi at 5100rpms.

a/f 14 @ 3000rpms about a 45* angle downsloping curve until 10.5 @ 5500rpms and drop.

Somebody hearten me back to health. Look at my mods list. WTF happened?!

What Ap map were you using?Im guessing the S2+..The Tq looks nice at 319 but the Hp dont look so good..To bad you dont have a base run on that same dyno. With your mods I would think you would be close to 290-300hp and 320-330tq.Does the car feel alot stronget then before the mods?I bet you are doing better then 227hp and something wasnt setup right.

dyno dynamics always show lower than competitive systems (mustang, dynapack, dynojet)

The Dyno Dynamics dyno I go to, stock Speed 3's put down 206whp. Boost seems low though on your run.

I can't answer to anybody's questions; I don't know what Ap map is let alone what he was using. My buddy knows the shops in town and he said these guys are a bunch of dildos, but that's just one opinion and my buddy used to have an SRT-4, so. Hehe. But that broke my heart man, I was sitting there thinking, this guy has GOT to have some settings off or a profile or something set all wrong. My Neon buddy said with the heat and humidity today that it was bad for a dyno pull with big numbers. I am most confused by the torque to hp differentials as I've seen people post dynos up here and regardless of the dyno manufacturer the hp and tq are usually much closer.

Shark, my car does pull a LOT stronger and one of my good friends who rides with me occasionally for beer, videos, you know whatever (not Neon guy) said the car pulls way harder; he was blown away by the difference.

The vacuum on idle on the dyno was 19.8, though. My gauge feeds me 23 at startup, and 22 at idle after warmed up. That had me thinking a bit.

Tech said on a dynojet I would have pulled 265, he used to run a dynojet machine for a few years in a different shop before this one. He told me the dyno dynamics is a total heartbreaker.

When I'm under WOT running 1st (5600)-2nd (5600)-3rd (5600)-4th (5600)-5th at 4200 I'm typically spiking 17-18psi and then 'settling' down to 15.5 solid holding. And speeding my ass off of course, hehe. The tech wouldn't hard or drop shift though, like WOT slight let/clutch/shift/pop WOT, he said the dyno couldn't handle that torque drop. I was really disappointed and confused by the PSI myself. My SRT-4 buddy told me I need to look for a boost leak.

Anyhow, tech said I need a tuning solution and I should be able to grab another 25-30whp on that machine, I told him he could buy me an AP and be the vanguard tuner shop in IN. Hehe.

Believe it or not, maybe I'm jumping the couch, but I think I have harder pull at 85-90% throttle than I do at WOT to the floor.

Okay, tell me more; especially you Ken! :) I'm glad to hear someone else say this dyno is a heartbreaker, I thought the guy straight f*ed sh*t up and was feeding me lines.

I also think the fan situation sucked bawrs, I haven't seen those little 'compartmentalized' fans before, I wanted one of those Hollywood wind storm 6ft diameter mofo's.

Oh, I don't know anything about afr's, but I asked the guy if I was in danger of any detonation, he said none at all, but that my car was running WAY PIG RICH after 5600-5700 rpms, that DAMN wall we hit. He was really impressed by the tq I put down though.

I don't see a upgraded BPV in your mod list. Could the stocker be leaking boost? Have you checked your tube clamps to see if they are loose? Add a Forge BPV, Blue with 2 shims.

Doesn't the Forge BPV have some clank or something when you let off boost? I really like my whoosh sound with stock; is there any option on the market that doesn't have some gimmicky sound or something?

Not sure what you expected from your mods on the Dyno Dynamics Dyno. If you were looking for impressive numbers you should have kept looking for one of the other dynos Ken mentioned. Also, is everybody missing the point that the ambient temp was 92 with 60% humidity?? I would say those numbers are pretty good given the circumstances. Go on a day when it is 65 out and 30% humidity and I would think you see around a 10HP gain for right around235-240HP.

You want some impressive numbers, complete the exhaust and remove the stock catback, aftermarket bov, and ETS TMIC or c-pe FMIC. I didn't see any of these in your sig. From the limited info I have seen on the AP, it doesn't provide much peak HP gain. I really like how people are concerned about peak power as that doesn't mean a whole lot, its the gain in area under the curve or shift in the graph that wins races and produces a fast car.

I didn't know anything about differences in dyno... And the tech claimed that his computer adjusted for the humidity and that I'd pull exactly the same no matter what it was like outside; is that bullocks?

I am happy with the tq, that's what makes the car fun, I was more upset and pulling so low given what I've done...

you can measure performance in so many ways all day long. dynos, track times, trap speeds, cheesy plug in and stick to your dash monitors....at the end of the day the smile the car puts on your face is all that matters. because like it or not, there will always be someone somewhere who is faster. as long as you enjoy the car, thats all that matters.

IN that case, OH such smiles does it give.

Oh, and I am no expert, but I am calling BS that they calibrated the dyno due to the heat and humidity. What did they calibrate it for, 70 degrees and 30% humidity. Only thing I have heard as far as calibration is for sea level.

With the hood closed and the sri and factory tmic, your iat and boost temp had to way higher than ambient temps. I think I read that every 10 degrees you can drop boost temp, that is a 1% gain in HP. I am really interested in what your boost temps were, I would think they had to be around 130+. If that was lowered to 90, that would be about an increase 4% HP = 10 HP more. I would have had them run the car with the hood open and a big fan blowing on the IC.

I think she just got hot. the exhaust set up you have will allow it's heat to find your intercooler. I wouldn't try to run at the track in those temps. keep head up, buddy. you know your car rocks. Good call Captain K

So you didn't do a run with stock ecu followed by the ap flashed run? That sucks man we are all waiting to see the dynos of that.
