Dyno day 11-21-09

haha, nice :P

I guess mine spiked for all three pulls?
my first run was 308/311
the next one spiked something stupid in the high 300's and the last one the graph showed another spike in the 200's

that dyno was not calibrated right AT ALL. sorry to rain on your parade ppl but they had the dyno calibrated to a regular mazda3 and they had my speed6 calibrated to a regular mazda6. i know you think that it wouldnt make any difference but IMO it would make a huge difference especially for me because my car is AWD and not FWD.

and WES it was my Speed6 in the vid. thomas drives a slow MSP.

oh, sorry. i haven't been around the 'in-crowd' lol, in so long that i get some things confused. i thought thomas had the 6.

yea, i knew they were calibrated high.

i was only expecting something around 250?. . . lol

there's no way that car puts down 300hp w/ only an intake and stage I tune. :P

Ha!!! LOL!! I guess I'll need to do another pull on the dyno that reads high according to others(dyno jet). I know it made a big diff for you with the awd thing, but doesn't it read whp thru the wheels?
I thought the "info" in the computer was for weight purposes so the computer can put the correct strain on your drive line.

What about custom cars hand made like a rat rod that doesn't have info in the computer?

Take for example a 31 Ford coupe with a blown 351. Where is the info on that? The motor that came in that only had about 40 hp and I'm sure a blown 351 puts out more than that.

My car dyno'd 17 whp more than I was expecting so it can't be that off.(bicker)

true,

but think about it, do you think that the workers there really calibrated that dyno the right way? knowing that they were going to sale the dyno and not have to bother with it any more. not trying to talk down on any one here but Tim dynoed his car at Carboy(on their dynojet) with basically the same mods that you have and 2psi more and his numbers were 29x whp and 30x wtq.
the thing about the dyno at TC was that they were using the calibrations of a Mazda 3 with a 5-speed tranny, so with the MS3 having 6-speeds and different gearing the numbers are going to be off. who knows how inaccurate they are but i know they wont be on-point. either way Rick your car is a beast there is no denying and it put up numbers better than my measily 257 whp and 293wtq (unamused).

Yuup yuup... a slow msp that pulls both your speeds ha ha ha lmao....

the track tomorrow if the weather holds out. we can all run them. i will show you all what a proper wheel drive can do.

I just got off the phone with tc.com. They said the calibrations are mainly for weight purposes. He also pointed out the fact that it was cold the night my car was dyno'd and that probably pushed me over the 300 whp mark.

Like I said, my car only dyno'd 17 hp more than Tim's and it was pretty close to Meagan's. She has a few bolt ons and a tune. So who knows?
