how many issues am I gonna have if I drop my car 1.5" - 2" in minnesota with the snow and what not?

unless you have something else to drive in the snow i dont think i would do it with as much snow as you all get. If the roads get cleared pretty quick it may not be a problem but if they dont anything more than 2 or 3 inches and you will be sitting until things get cleared up.

oh they're plow nazis up here, but if we're blizzarding they'll wait a while to clear the side streets, the highways stay pretty well cleaned

I thought about doing the same thing but talked my self out of it. We just get way too much snow around here and the roads are too bad. 1.5" might not be too bad but I think 2" would be pushing it. my 2 pennies

if they r good about the roads go ahead and do it. the benefits will outway the negatives, besides who needs to go anywhere in a blizzard?

ya i just love the look of it dropped, and then you get that lip kit like that blue mp3 on here NCSkaterMP3? Just looks soooo tight.

p.s. you coming to the car meets on the 19 or 20th?

Unlike you wussy southern states that everything gets shut down with 1" on the ground. It would take a good foot of snow here before they think about shutting down anything.(silly)(spin)

ill admit Ky is a bunch of pussys in the snow. Im from west virginia where they are great about clearing the roads but here they close schools and business' if there is 3" or more. Theyre pussys but its nice to have a day off every now and then.

if I get coilovers I have to worry about adjusting them a couple times a year, plus getting camber fixed, and getting each wheel aligned properly...aka too much work.

not true. if you set a bag set up properly you will handle as good as you do now. Firestone now has a air system called the Praxxis which is actually a performance suspension and is supposed to be a similar set up to what they use on some F1 cars. It is being installed right now on my Sti. Ill slet you all know how it works.

iwas considering but the guys at the audio/mod shop thought its a bad idea round here

oh well

How much does that run you in total? Does camber come in to effect at all?

You can get a complete bag set up of good quality for around from the airlift co or ill have tehmavailable soon for about 1700 for the complete kit. Now the praxxis system will run you 2500 to 3000 dollars (not sure becuase it was given to me for the car were building for sema). As long as each corner has its own valve your handling will not be lost.
Where camber is concerned, once you have the bag setup you choose a ride height and have your car aligned at that height. Then you cruise at that height and when you park or want to play at a stoplight you can drop it with the flip of a switch. I know lots of people that will cruise lower than normal for short periods of time jsut to show off with very little affect on the tires. Wouldnt recommend it for long distance though.

hehe, you could move to the sun??

failing that i'd be going for ride height adjustable stuff.... what about adjustable gas shocks, they move up and down with a standard tyre pressure hose... jsut inflate to correct pressure..... i have absoloutley no idea if tthat would work... all i know s that those things are really made for towing... and i've towed caravans before... thats one way to lower your car, but my point is those shocks have to counter act the effects of the cans....

does anyone with more idea than me know about this stuff???

i don't deal with snow, coz i chose not to drive in the 3 places it snow in australia!!!
