I was cleaning my engine bay and while trying to find the right size to remove the tmic cover i dropped one of the heads and it fell in the radiator fan. I lack the proper tools IE the right ******* metric heads to get anything on this car off. or ramps so I cant pull off the scrape plate from the bottom and just take it out

what would jesus do?:o

You can get a pair or ramps from Wal-Mart for $40. They work well so that you can take the bottom shield off and grab the fallen hero. Or just take it to any place that does oil and tell them the situation. They may even let you use their ramp for free.

got any spare 2x4s(or wider) laying around that you can fashion a ramp out of?

I don't feel like buying ramps or metric ratchets just to get a ******* head though...

I guess basically I'm curious if I'll **** anything up driving it around. or eve driving to walmart to get the s***.

can you get to it if you had a magnet tool? those are all of a couple bucks and a must have. basically a magnet on an antenna lol

Why not go ahead and invest in the tools, honestly they aren't that expensive. My ramps and socket set are the most used tool in my garage. Also every bolt on these cars is pretty much metric so buying a metric socket set was a no brainer for me.

i've parked low vehicles in the 'v' of a driveway or some other crease in parking lot or something to get under one. be sure to pull your parking brake!

tundra, FTW!

If you have a driveway with sidewalks in front, pull up perpendicular to the driveway and run the front wheel up onto the sidewalk along the curb. Used to do that for oil changes with my RX7.

if it's the new one im teh jealous! i got a measly taco (still a nice truck, i just would rather have that 5.7 full cab!)

but then you're being kinda slanted and that's not the right way to do oil changes. i am also teh jealous about your car as well (if it was an fd)

Ramps

Buy yourself some Race Ramps! Part #RR56, $199. The best investment you will ever make, unless your skinny as a rail and can fit under the car and the gutter!

yes, it's not the mule my xterra was, but it actually gets better mileage. tows better. i have the 4.7L, with 2WD ( :( ) and the crew-max mongo cab.... i kinda wish for the 5.7L but i got such a bad-ass deal on this one. besides, it works just fine, and tows my boat and camper great.

i added a leer camper shell on the back, surfboard racks, and have a deck built in dividing the bed top and bottom of the bed. makes it so cool to lock up everything out of sight.

i miss my 4WD (first time i have EVER been without), but this is a good truck for what i like to do. can carry an assload of people and gear.

that thing sure is a b**** to park in tight parking lots, but that's what the MS3 is for. :)

I prefer the mini sledge.

i was gonna suggest the magnet stick if you can see the socket.

IDK if the curb pull-up technique would work with a FWD car. i used to do it when i had my truck all the time, made it really easy to open the cut-out.

haha, just kidding man. I've been itching to use this.

..same thing happened to me. Luckily it dropped to the bottom of the bay and I was able to rattle it out of there
