After buying the 16.5 cx5 gt I found the drivers seat to be very uncomfortable compared to my Gmc colorado and 03 gt mustang. The lumbar on the cx5 seat just wasn't fitting good to my back. Just came here to share what I did to help anyone else sharing the same problem. I actually fixed the problem and now the seat is extremely comfortable after a 5 dollar fix.
The lumbar system for this seat is extremely cheap. From what I see it is a motor that pulls a cable which tightens up and pulls a mesh design into the seat. The problem is there is alot of slack in this cable. I put a piece of hard styrofoam from michaels chraft store in-between the mesh and the seat which pushes the seat out into your lower back giving alot more support. Works great!!
I have pictures but not sure how to post them. I m new!
