driver side mirror vibration, and a few other questions...

Hi,

I know this was a topic before... can't find it in the threads now, and honestly, didn't really notice it before I was a CX5 owner... so is there a fix for this yet?

On the plus side, I love my CX-5. Love the tech, the smoothness of the ride, and the awesome mileage. Even better mileage than my Matrix, so I upgraded in just about everyway. Now if only that mirror vibration would go away... =)

Also... is a slight oil burning smell normal in new cars? It was noticeable when I first got the car... not so much anymore. I assumed it was all part of the engine break-in process.

Thanks!

I drove a CX5 a couple of weeks ago.

Mirror vibration on the RHS, drivers side was very noticeable over 60mph.

Also had excessive wind noise, to me it appeared to be from the top of the windscreen, but the wife thought it was the wing mirror.

On two previous tests in different cars, i didn't notice either, maybe the faults were absent, or i was too busy taking other things in.

Still like the car, but awaiting the Kuga to test drive next January.

Also like the CRV, but didn't like the new Santa Fe.

Had two test drives in the Honda, only one very short test in the Hyundai, couldn't wait to get out of the car!

At the dealer today for the mirror. Still no fix, but it is in the works. You get used to the bouncing mirror very fast, for what it is worth.

I don't notice the mirror problem in mine as much as others, but it does vibrate a little bit. Stop looking at it and it will likely go away. ;)

Fortunately I don't drive that fast that often. Mostly city driving. Still, it seems like a a pretty big thing to miss, and an easy thing to fix. Mirrors have been on cars for a long time!

Are the mirrors supposed to vibrate (on all of these, lol)? Because mine don't and I've had CX-5 for 8 months and 10.5K miles.

But Mazda is working on the solution for those that do vibrate, per my SA. And this is not the first Mazda model to have the problem. It seems nobody has seen a TSB so far...
