Hey there,
First time poster, but 3 month lurker of these forums. I recently acquired a used 2007 Mazda3 Sport GS (hatchback model). I followed some instructions to remove the driver door interior panel because I heard some rattling/noticed that the panel would come loose near the bottom when the door was slammed shut...turns out I'm missing some clips. After removing the screws and moving the panel to get better access, I turned on the car and the panic alarm went crazy. The fix for this was easy (key in driver door key cylinder, lock + unlock, key in ignition and start). I should add that I also unscrewed and rescrewed my gas cap before turning the car on, because I need to replace that as well. Anyhow, my questions are as follows:
a) Should I be disconnecting the battery before attempting any of these clip replacements? It seems I might need to unplug the door lock plug as well because the molding for my driver door handle is cracked slightly.
b) How much effort does it take to completely remove the door panel? I removed the two screws and tried to pull it off, but it's still a major pain and I was afraid of breaking it (it seems to be holding on to something near the top of the panel...more clips perhaps?)
c) How the heck do you unscrew the damn tweeter from the triangular molding above the door panel? It seems that it's cracked on one of the alignment posts.
Please let me know...more questions will surely follow and any help is appreciated. I'll post pics if need be.
Thanks!
