drilled and slotted rotors

Brembo rotors are great. So, are the slotted brembos...but beware of the cross drilled brembos, they are not drilled by brembo! The tirerack cross drills them, probably voids a manufacturing warrenty by brembo.

gjmoreo - how'd you fry your rears so fast? most of your braking is done w/ the front brakes

I have no idea ... I was told by my dealership after my 30k mile maintanace that they were 85% worn and i needed new ones soon. I said, what about the fronts and he said, no the fronts are fine. How can that be? i dont know. i do not want to spend the something for just the rears as he quoted me. Know of any options?

216 seems like an awesome deal for all 4 and ive never heard that tirerack drills them themselves, whered u hear that??

paulmp3 - those 4 are for plain rotors, non-drilled or slotted and non plated.

DevilsSi1481 - Brembo only drills their own 2-piece rotors as well as casts their x-drilled rotors for Porsche, Jaguar etc. Tire-rack out-sources the x-drilling.

gjmoreo - are just the rear rotors fried, or are the pads gone too? You could just get the rear set. How many % is left for the fronts?

I have been reading up on changing the SS lines and it sounds like it can be a pain. If i just replaces all 4 rotors and front pads, would i have to bleed the lines?

DevilsSi1481 - outsourcing is paying someone else to do something you can't do yourself.

paulmp3 - ideally to keep your brake system in top shape, you should do a system flush every year. In Germany it's mandatory to do this to pass the TUV every year to drive. If you do just pads and rotors, you will intro some slight air into the system @ the piston seals when you push the pistons back into the caliper. So ideally bleeding them would be a good idea.

For brakes, why don't you consider taking to your local brake place to do it? Save you time and hassles to pay someone else to do it. Especially if you don't know how, or find it too much of a pain to do.

Well, I think the rotors are just fine ... he said the pads were like 85% worn and the front he said were "fine" so I dont know what that means.
