wow...that's crazy. strengthening the tranny ? are u changing out the gears and stuff ?

you fuckers in the mainland have wayy too much roommm...my damn house here in hawaii is smaller than that damn garage....sigh*

co0L though...what times you going for? and what are you gonna run?

well when i was living in hawaii i had no garage at all. I bought my P5 from JN mazda on Nimitz. but im going for high 11's with everything in my car, but if i do alot of weight reductions im really hoping to pull low 11's or possibly 10's, i have to wait to see.

Oh i am deburring the forks and gears then cryo freezing them

who is doing the cryo treatment? i was thinking of doing this glade to see someone else trying to build a bullit proof tranny

i see you've ported the TB. how much bigger were you able to get it?

what sort of flow rates did you get out of the head?

have you decided on a final drive ratio yet?

what made you choose cryo treatment over shot peening? (reason i ask is because i should shot peening gave greater overall strength)

well i dont have the specs of the TB and for the flow rates, i will be picking them up with the motor next weekend.

as for the final drive ratio i have been poking around with AWR, and Tripoint, they could give me any info because they have a different ratio on there road cars, which do not go well with a drag application.

and for the cryo, and shot peening. well when you shot peen metal you are only affecting the outer portions of the metal, basically beating it stronger. what cryo freezing does is by freezing the metal the molecules begin to change and line up correctly compared to speratic. this makes it alot strong molecularly. this process has been done with NASCAR for years

Very cool stuff. . .I'm sure a bunch of us would be interested in how we can strengthen our trannys as well. Good info and nice work. . .but yes your garage appears to be WAY too clean and not have enough junk in it!

LOL, yeah I just recently bought the house. I would like to add more stuff but all my spare money is going to finish this project

You can shotpeen and cryo. Each give about a 100% strenght improvement. Jesus man, those are some larger injectors btw.

good info on the cryo, thanks! i'd be interested to see how the head and TB flow as well because i've had my head ported, but i'm sure yours will flow more due to yours being a out and out race engine.

another q, have you bored the block? i assume you have, but how much? or what have you done there?

btw, hope you get into the low 10s! the engine certainly has enough strength!

im have a guy trying to find some info on some cryogenically frozen axles for me...heard its awesome way to strengthen parts

well the motor will be able to run 25 max psi, but im only going to run about 20psi, then slowly work my way up. I have a two extra engines incase the worst happens. My builder and i are talking about a prototype bulletproof block with some interesting ideas. but its soo damn expensive. i guess i have to save up for that

msp axles are alittle bigger than p5 axles

I would just get custom axles and say screw the cryo, a member on this board has already had custom axles made because he snapped his while running at the track
