so im in the process of installing my corksport dp and im very upset...
about 2 weeks ago i sent my car in for the bad turbo seal at browns mazda in fairfax. they repaired or replaced the turbo seal or whatever it is they did and it fixed the problem with the smoke coming out the exhaust. heres the upsetting part. i go to remove the dp and they reused all the original hardware. 2 of the studs were stripped and 1 of the studs wasnt even the right size. it was obviously way to small... what they had done was get a smaller stud(in diameter) and 2 nuts to install the stock dp to the turbo. i took out the stud to look at the threading. lets just say that it didnt look like a stud ever went in there. the inside was completely stripped of its threading. so bad to the point that i cant even re-tap it. maybe its just me but arent they suppose to replace or fix something like that and not use improper hardware? f ing ridiculous. oh an another thing, another 1 of the 5 studs werent even tightened down all the way. i removed for 4 studs and the dp moved about freely. wtf is up with that?! gah this is pissing me off.
so at this point i removed the turbo to fix the threading in the ones i could. re tapped 3 of the them, 1 came out good and the other one(small) i just have the leave it like that. now, the turbo will go back in along with the new corksport dp. shouldnt be any more then 2 maybe at most 3 hours. ill update again when it gets done and i go for a test drive.
moral of the story... dont go to browns.. they suck at life. okok.. that was harsh. they REALLY suck at life.
