When you reset the computer, the CEL will go away, and according to Apex ( I spoke with them yesterday about this)the CEL did not come back.

Uhhh lol ,yeah, I guess your right. It was in the other thread, but no excuse, they shoulda let you know. As far as gaskets, they should provide em also. How is it btw Tittietwiztie ? Any noticable power gains ? Im takin mine to the Dyno when mine comes in, gonna get a baseline, then install the d/p and get the gain there. Ill post it when done, hopefully next weekend.

its deffinetly got some more get up and go to it.
huge difference,no.
noticeable,yes.
worth the price,yes.
easy to install,yes
would i recommend it,yes

as far as the gaskets go i was lucky and had a couple extra laying around from an exhaust prior i had on my TII but the holes were spaced to far apart for the factory flange so i had to "modfy" them a little to get thte bolts through. i also wouldn't recommend using the exhisting bolts that hold the front section of exhaust to the cat-back because they're actually locked into place on the flange by a bunch of little interlocking slots on the bolts and the flange itself. if theres an actual name for this i don't care right now, its late and i just got back from a movie so bare with me. other than that all the bolts should come off pretty effortlessly since the cars are fairly new. if your worried about it at all just spray em with some PB blaster or something and leve it for a little while and you should be ready to tackle it head on.

[commence noob questions]
how much did that cost? sorry but even after all these posts i still dont know s*** about cars... what exactly does it bolt up to on the front? i assume its the turbo back idea???? does the back end of it bolt up to our racing beat exhaust?? noticebale sound improvement?
[cease noob questions]

My eyes are burning! It's people like you that are destroying the Ozone layer, burning the rainforests, not eating dolphin safe tuna, killing tree's with harsh auto chemical's, killing ant's in a inhumane way. Twizted, you are a bad man, and if it was up to me, I would send you to a Federal pound you in the ass prison. I hope you die of gonorrhea and rot in hell.

yes, exactly, lol

Except that the EPA recently released a study indicating that catalytic converters may actually cause more harm to the environment because they usually end up in landfills rusting away into the water table than the car would without one. Modern cars, they concluded, run cleanly enough to warrant the progressive removal of catalytic converters over the next decade or so. This is just thier recommendation, the Federal Government has to approve this.

There has been much debate about cats but i will only say this. These little ""afterburners"" (catalytic converter) are a band aid.
They are a joke. They need to revise the internal combustion engine.
They need to promote better combustion WHICH they can but say is too expensive to do. Most modern head designs leave little work for these units but because they are tuned pig rich from the factory they still need them. Its a amzing what a nice piggyback can do to get all the inefficiencys out of the system during certain drive cycles.
There are soooo many variables we can talk about but for the most part, because we dont have any other choice i choose to keep at least one high capacity unit on my car to make the smog boys happy. They really are less restrictive then what they were years ago. s*** the resonator on our cars develop more backpressure in conjunction with the muffler then the two cats.

;)

Hey I am the one who first got the D/P made from apex motorspors. The check engine light will stay on no matter if you reset the ecu or not. There is no effect on the performance when the CEL is on. I have learned to deal with it.

it's been proven many times that *some* people who have crazy tuned cars running standalone management systems were able to tune their car to run great at the same time NOT have a cat and pass emissions!

Not to get technical but it's not really the actual down pipe. the actual down pipe says calloway on it. Any way the check engine light will keep coming back so don't waist your time re setting the radio. I will try to help the whole check engine annoyance by figuring out what kind of resistance the pcm is looking for. looks like a quality piece (props too maker!)
