Does oil degrade in the cold?

So I bought lots of Mobile 1 synth a long time ago and since I dont drive much this is the first time ive needed an oil change. But at the same time I just realized that the whole winter the oil sat in a a cold garage.

Is this bad for oil? I have never reasearched it and really dont feel like it, so if someone could post what they think about this with a few links it would be awesome.

You may have some settling of additives, nothing some shaking won't fix. The oil should actually be more stable chemically at low temperatures than high.

Well its not at low temp its at freezing temp for weeks on end.

Any other thoughts?

Synthetic stuff is pretty resilient, unless you're using something weird like 20w50. I'd stir it around a bit and pour it in....should be fine.
