hi i have a 1994 protege and it's in my driveway for 3 weeks now. At first it stop on red light so i have to keep the gaz on always. I changed the gaz pump and work better. And after 2 days the same problem start over again. My mecanic changed the entire distributor, cable, plugs, heat sensor and did something on the injection. By the way there was no code on the CPU. When i started it alot of white smoke came out and after it rolle like new. The second time i tried to start at home just the starter is making noise and nothing else. I am sick of all this i think about put my car in junk now cuz all the mecanic a saw seams confused about this problem even the mazda dealer. but it is only 205000. Someone told me to change the o2 sensor or the computer. It is a good idea ? Thank for your help.

My 92 323 stalls sometimes when car stops at red light over the summer. Tried multiple things and problem still exists. Dealer could not find anything. Finally I pulled the connector to the Idle speed control, the car idle much faster but never stall once since then. I know it is not the right solution but ....

check your air intake hose if its factory that may be the prob. mine did the same stuff.. when i got to lookin around i found in the ripples of the air intake hosen it had dry rotted and ripped so i duct taped it at first and finally broke down and bought a cold air intake that has no chance of breaking oh the prob. is now gone and never been back!!!!

i have a friend that had the same prob. it came out that his injection was nearly dead. u could try to spray some carb cleaner or wd40 to remove any soil or dust. if it doesnt work then u should perhaps change the injection to a carb. he got a 626 carb in place n is working fine.
