Does anyone here drive just a standard M6?

Seems like all anyone talks about here is the MS6. Doesn't anyone own just a plain M6? And if you do, how much did you pay?

A local dealer is advertising the M6 s auto for $18090. It seems like a really good price already, but would I be able to go much lower? I went to another dealer last night and they said they could go a couple hundred lower but not much. She asked me what price I would need to drive out of there tonight with it. I know they wanted to sell the car that night and get as much as possible for it, so maybe they have more room to go. Thoughts?

Well never went for a S, but my original 6i auto - everything else standard, came in at $14,700...so I have no idea if that gives you an idea...

This was about a year + or so..2005 model.

Yeah..I had one this year and got rid of it and bought the ms6 gt, its a much different car, not just due to the power either...but sticking to the subject, it depends on the many models if that's a good deal or not...if its just a 6i with nothing vrs a 6i sport loaded...given the incentives why not look for a ms6 sport...its a better built car.

It's a base 6s auto, MSRP $24,520, $6500 off from a one-price dealer. If I could afford a ms6 I'd go for it instead, but standard 6 is almost out of my price range. The ms6s around here are about $4k more. I just can't afford it.

And to the other poster, I wish I could find a 6i auto for $14,700. I wouldn't have to think twice about that price. But the 6i don't seem to have the same large ($2500+$1000 for financing with MAC) rebates as the 6s does. Probably has something to do with people not wanting to buy cars with poor gas mileage this year.

Do you really have to buy new? Why not find a used one?
Over the weekend, I traded in my truck for a loaded 2004 M 6s for ~10300.

You traded in a truck? So that means you got the 6s from a dealer right? I don't know why a dealer would sell a loaded '04 6s for 10k unless it was damaged and/or wouldn't start. The trade-in value for a base '04 6s is over $12k, and dealers aren't in the business to lose money.

Rusharp now you've got me thinking about the speed6. I didn't know it had so much more over the 6s. I thought it was mainly turbo and AWD. I didn't know about the performance tires, HID lights, sport seats, climate control, bose audio, 6CD changer, and all the external cosmetic upgrades. That's a lot of car for the money. I was planning on getting some new wheels and performance tires for the 6s anyway so that's $1500-2000 already. For a couple grand more I'll get all that extra? I'd lose the automatic and the power seat, but I won't miss the automatic, and the seat, well once you've got it dialed in for yourself, how often do you need to change it?

i haven't changed my (non-powered) seat since the first time i adjusted it. if you can get it for the price most of us have managed, and afford the hit in gas money, it's much, much more car for the money.

I can tell you first hand there is larger differences with the cars that are put together in Japan...That J in the vin makes the car worth more for one thing...but lets not talk about price and talk just about the value and difference.

The quality overall is better on the speeds, My other 6 was put together here and there are just different parts and qa metheods being used, its just not the same car.

I would not have lost money on the other one just to move over for the "fun factor" it is a matter of getting something you will want for the longer term.

If your talkin 4 grand, that's not a lot of money when your talking about payments..so I would say just think about it and go drive one...in the end only you can make that choice....best of luck.

Yeah I got it from a dealer/wholesaler & the 6 runs great. The exterior is in great condition as well as the interior. Hell, we drove it in a TSD Rally this past Sat. in NE OH.

OK, I went and test drove an MS6 last night and I am sold. For $21-22k this car can't be beat. Now I just need to find a dealer that will give me the right price.

I bought my 2004 Sport Wagon Fully loaded out the door $17,800 in December of 2004! Deals are out there to be had, you just have to do your homework, thats all.
