Does anyone have a Wiring Diagram of the Drivers side Radiator Fan?

Hey all,

I need to rewire the driver's side radiator fan back to its original connections. I would assume that it would be as simple as just looking under the hood of any other 89-92 miata and taking pictures what it connects into :D

See, the guy that I got it from, didn't realize that the thermostat sensor switch was dead/broken/disconnected. So, in order to fix it, he hard wired it to the passenger side fan. So, i need to correct that and make it work as intended.. I'm just weird like that. Does anyone have something like that, or can point me to some website that would have it?

Thanks
~Doc

I'm going to include 2 pics.. these are 3 plugs that don't go anywhere..

And here is a pic of what the splice looks like. Any help in identifying any of these plugs would be a huge pointer into the right direction for me. The large connector is what it's plugged into.

Re: wiring diagram

Hi Doc,

I couldn't scrounge up a wiring diagram, but we did actually happen to have a 92 miata in the shop I could peek at. One of the tech's informed me that the wires in your first and second picture actually have nothing to do with the radiator fan. From the first picture,

From Right to Left:

The light blue connector piece on the far right is actually used with the airbag system.

The royal blue connector piece is used to toggle the check engine light.

The white piece on the far left with the longer wire would be connected to a cruise control unit if it was present. It would appear from the pix that your car does not have cruise control?

Hope that helps!

Evan,

If you could peek under the hood, yes, that would help. 2 owners prior to me, the engine was replaced, so, there's a good chance, none of that was ever hooked back up.

Its just the last thing that i want to do is wire a hot switch to that fan, and stick it in the car..lol. Plus, I hate splcing wires.. If i have to make a switch like that, i want to make sure it's semi-permanent.

From the second picture, it looks as if the fan is connected properly (large black connector).

The small white connector in the second pic is for the A/C clutch.

Hi, Doc:

I'm unsure whether these will help with your '90 Miata problem, but I have the diagrams you want from "Mazda MX-5 Miata 1996 Wiring Diagram", P/N 9999-95-026G-96.

However, each file exceeds the size limit for attaching to this message. Please send you E-dress and I'll get them to you.

As crazy as this sounds, if it all is wired correctly, what in the world is it running off of then..

Am I looking at the wrong one.. if that wiring harness is setup correctly, should i then assume that the drivers side runs off of the AC/cooling system, and the Passenger side runs off of the temperature of the engine...

Based on what kcbhiw said in this post: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123768665
The passenger side fan operates with the A/C.
So, i was assuming that the Drivers side is the one that operates with the Temperature sensor when it got too hot.

I'll check the fans tonight again, with the new sensor on the thermostat housing, and see if it will turn on now with the sensor fixed. If not, i'll go over the schematics that Jack will be sending me.

Thanks

Wiring Diagrams

Sorry Doc, it looks as if Email won't work-Gmail apparently has a 30 MB limit.

I'll snail-mail them to you if you'll send your street address.

I have attached a system wiring diagram for the '90. 90-93 should, for all intents and purposes, be the same. Hopefully this helps.
