Does anybody actually use the Voice Recognition in the CX-5 ?

:
2014.5 2.5L Touring /w bose
I have a 2014.5 Touring CX-5 (no tech pkg) and briefly tried the voice recognition and
it seems to work poorly, ex: "frequency 102.5". Haven't tried it with a phone.
Is it really lousy or should I play with it more?

Do you use voice recognition regularly and how?

I've tried it a few times, with terrible results...

I tried "Call Margaret Mobile" and it repeated "Calling Emergency Number!"

It kind of reminds me of the episodes of Big Bang when they make fun of their phones...

Exactly... bmarsh, if you have trouble with your voice, think about me, with my east indian accent having an argument with my cx5(screwy)...!!!!
feels like Raj from big bang theory at times...

The most annoying thing to me is that shuffle is broken on the bluetooth connection to my iphone and the only way to trigger shuffle is to use voice recog.

But just about every damn single time I say "shuffle all" it hears it as "phone call". So I have to hit the hang-up button in frustration, try again, and it always gets it the second time.

WTH.

I like it, and find it useful, but I read the manual, and know all of the terms that you can use to speak.

My wife hates it, but never read the manual.

For my part I find the voice recognition to be the only thing that prevents the USB resuming issue to cause me to trash the entire head unit with a hammer ...... I simply say "Play Artist whoever" and more times than not, it picks up on the artist I want and plays it. If the USB didn't take 4 years to initialize after starting up, this would almost, almost, make the USB resume issue bearable.

I've not tried using the shuffle command from Bluetooth .... I'll give that a go soon. I wonder if "Shuffle artist whoever" works .... and for that matter .... is there a concise list of all the voice commands somewhere (unless I'm missing something, it's not listed in the manual) ?

I tried it 2 years ago, hated it. Never used it again.

I use it for hands free calling. I work but not real great. The best. Thing is to wait a few seconds between commands. Seems slow. To respond to commands.

That sounds like my wife using it! (cryhard) don't tell her I said that.

What makes it even more frustrating is the infotainment gives up on you and itself and cancels all inputs after it doesn't recognize the words inputted.

Me: Navigate to an address

CX-5: Navigate to home

Me: NO!! NAVIGATE TO AN ADDRESS!

My cat understands more commands than my voice recognition does. This thread cracks me up.(lol)

I have to do the exact same thing. The funny thing is that I know the first time I try it, it won't work so I just say "dumb" and it says phone and I cancel and say shuffle all and it works. Very strange.

They should just remove that feature and fix the bluetooth and usb playlist and all those other crap stuff.
