do u dislike ur mazdaspeed?

OK! MY TURN!

Do I hate the MSP???..........NO ,but I have a serious dislike for a lot of things associated with this car.

I don't like the fact that the MSP was put into LIMITED PRODUCTION to be a rare car and then when they sold like hot cakes,MAZDA decided to make our cars less rare by producing more on the second run then they did on the first!:wtf:

I bought the car for a couple of reasons to begin with.
1.Rare and different
2. A car supposedly TUNED by an aftermarket Mazda Specialty performance company with a reputable name...... :bs:
Mazda needs to get their head out of their asses and recognize the need to fix a few things that these cars are having problems with.
I have had nothing but an absolute NIGHTMARE with this car from almost day one. There is a never ending list of problems that keep compiling because I keep getting the run around from the non speed dealers about fixing them. Not to mention that I am wayy too busy to run back and forth to the Speed dealer that is 90 mi. away from my house.
I was told when I bought this car that MAZDASPEED would be coming out with a LOT of performance upgrades that would be available for the Speed.:bs: :wtf: :bs:
I would like to know when this will happen???NEVER!
Then we got the list.................
Blown motor, bad tranny, dead head unit, the scratch the dealer put in it before I even picked it up,moronic service guy's who won't admit when there is a prob,THE CLUNK,A bad set of plug wires ,rusty brakes, and the warranty police from hell!
Did I mention the clunk which is becoming un bearable?

Oh yeah,Where is this ****** aftermarket
support!

But with all of this being said,I still don't hate this car.I was very close about two weeks ago though. But then I said to myself that I would not be beat by a CAR!I have never had a car that I set out to accomplish something with that I didn't get done!I really wished that I didn't purchase this car ,as I would have been a lot more happy with something else, but here I am.I can't trade it in right yet so I will turn it into what I set out to do.
Make it the BADDEST Mazdaspeed in NORTH AMERICA!
This is my will, and it WILL BE DONE!
Matt;)

For the people that hate their msp, can you give me the car that you would rather drive? Of course it has to be within the price of MSP

don't worry newbie. you'll get to that point once you realize there's better cars out there without hesitation and clunking problems that handle just as well and have a better build quality to them along with more power. till then go back to sniffing asses or glue or whatever floats your boat

Well if you had read my previous post on the first page, you would know that I was already agreeing with you and I liked the way you put it into words.

havent seen anyone post it yet so ill be the first! I HATED MY MSP even though it was all my fault.......
HOw exactly was it your fault again?

I would have to agree with ForceFed's comment (although I haven't blown my motor or had Tranny issues).

I've had so many problems, compounded with poor service from a Mazda Dealership, that I will never own another Mazda again.

how about a SRT-4? 99'-00 Lightning,3rd gen RX-7, MKIV TT Supra. i know a used audi S4 is a couple thousand higher than the MSP but its within reach.

those are just to name a few

I wouldn't call teh SRT/4 close these days. YOur talking $21-$22K for the dodge and only $17K for the MSP.

Another question has to be asked, which is:

If you hate the car so much, why did you buy it?

1. My MP3 clunks - I don't hate it
2. It wasn't fast - I knew that from the test drive, I don't hate it, I fixed that :D
3. It was supposed to be limited but then here comes the same car out but this time witha turbo and LSD! So much for limited - I still don't hate my car for that.
4. Yep my dealer service sucked too - Not the cars fault or mazdas either entirely, also many people b**** yet how many have writtenthe BBB about it? I don't hate my car for a dealerships poor service.

The funny thing.....

....about this thread is the fact that if you were to visit other auto forums your going to see very similar posts. It's the way it is. Nothing is perfect. No cars, etc...

Hind-sight is 20/20

If I knew back then what I know now, no friggen way in hell I would of bought the car.

Granted, it's an awesome handling car, but as I said in past posts, the problems far out-weigh the fun-to-drive factor.

Ah yes but hind sight is just that, unpredicatable.

What else exists that could totaly aviod any problems?
Any car can have issues. Hell take the S2000 for example, it was one of the most lemoned cars in 2001!! its till a great car but sometimes manufacturers screw the pouch, ANY OF THEM!

I am curious to what you would have bought instead?

So true, I was going to buy an SRT-4 before I got my Mazdaspeed. Test driving the SRT-4 I snapped the front axles opening up the car on a strait-a-way, I thought it was the tranny. My friend won't let me drive his SRT-4 cause I did the same thing on the canyon runs to his car. Because of this I didn't buy one. The Mazdaspeed I bought was a demo car with 140 miles on it. The dealer already fixed out the problems before I bought it. I've driven it hard and haven't had any problems so far. But I have to admit, dealing with the devil there's always a catch, my kenwood deck didn't come with a remote-DOH! (notcool) But I love my car cause it's all I got, anyone ever get that feeling you were meant to have something?

i started looking at all the lil 4 bangers when i decided a new daily driver would be nice to have. after all of the looking i did, i decided that the msp was definitely the best car i was gonna get for $17k...it really is a great deal...true, mine is only a week and a half old, so i havent had enough time to know if it's going to give me trouble...hell, i havent even opened it up yet...(still under 1,000 miles)...but so far i love the car...it feels peppy...and handles great...i didnt buy the car to go fast...i dont even think i'm gonna mod it...i guess it would be nice if the car had a lil more power, but still i feel that i'm getting a lot for what the car cost...and besides...i have the formula if i wanna go fast... ;)

wasn't that price when i bought mine. another reason i dislike the car so much

IF you bought yours at much higher then the SRT wasn't even an option then. They still weren't out.
However a WRX was, why not get that? You had other choices at any price range, so why get the MSP?

Its hardly your cars fault you signed papers and later felt you payed to much, thats your fualt.

Hey man, I don't know why you guys would list bad dealership experience as a thing against Mazda. Our family have Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and VW (sorry we don't like domestic nor trust them). Every one of them we have had bad dealership experience in both sales and services. I think all dealership are trying to do the least they can, so I don't hold that against Mazda at all for having poor dealership.

From the sound of it, everyone on this threat that complained wanted a toyota(lexus), fewest faults for any single manufactor. And you want a RX7 over a msp for msp being "faulty"??

yeah,and your point?

the WRX's were an option if i wanted to spend several thousand more than the MSP so they're not exactly in the price range

So what did you pay for the MSP and what was in the price range?
Also the WRX is able to be bought for $22K or less not to mention the wagon is even less.
