Do dogs go to heaven?

Sammy left us today. Thank you, everybody for the kind words.

i'm sure he is happy where ever he is now. all that matters is that you gave each other happiness when it mattered...it's all any of us can really ask of from life.

Sammy left us today. Thank you, everybody for the kind words.

What happens after this life should not be your concern for him.
Be consoled in the past in that you treated Sammy well in this life and all of you were better for it.
The wife and I see animals come and go daily by the nature of her work. There is such a long line of complete scum bags out there that are horrible to animals. Treated great or like garbage, the animal will pass. So knowing you were kind and caring should console you as you did what you could for him while he was here, to make his life wonderful.

Sammy left us today. Thank you, everybody for the kind words.

I'm sorry to hear that Sammy has passed. But now that he is no longer in pain and will always be with you - that connection is never severed.

Rest well little pup.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I have felt your pain, and although it may never be the same, you can rest well knowing you treated the pup with the love and care that he deserved.

I'm so sorry for your loss, but as everyone said, take comfort in knowing that he's in a better place, feeling no pain. Also, pat yourself on the back for offering such a wonderful life to an animal. You will be rewarded for your kindness.

Im really sorry for your loss, its always hard losing a loved one whether they be 2 legged or 4.
