This was done on a 2009 RX-8 R3 but the process is the same for any recent mazda. Check it out

Unfortunately it does not as the tail light assemblies are plastic welded together. I wish!

AHHH! that sucks! i got hit and cracked my drivers side tailight and a buddy of mine bought aftermarket ones and has the stock ones laying around and i wanted to use his casing. I would just use the light but his is the non gt so he doesnt have the LED tails like i do..=(

Im gonna take a stab at it this weekend. The chrome and amber lenses are KILLING ME. My OCD wont allow it. I will make a video of the whole process again. (The R3 in that video is mine) it can also be seen at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3317442

Good stuff!!! Interesting to see the changes in the headlights with the 2010 MS3 and RX-8. I've baked and taken apart my '08 ones numerous times now. I guess there's extra security with the multiple headlight screws. I wonder if the '10 Mazda3/MS3 HID lights are as intricate as the new RX-8 ones. Seems like you need to disassemble more things to get to the baking process.

Wow, subbing.. even with this video I'm still not brave enough to attempt this lol. maybe if I could get my hands on a second set of housings I might consider it.
