Diesel Regen frequency

I had an independent expert look into the frequency of the diesel CX-5 DPF regenerations. He said that the car is regenerating far too often (and this is probably contributing to the oil rise issue) and in his vast experience in the industry (master technician), it is regenerating at least twice as often as diesels in his experience should regenerate.

Can members indicate their regeneration frequency in miles or kilometres so that we can share experience and illustrate to Mazda another issue they need to resolve?

Mine is regenerating at 110-130 mile intervals (178-210km). I do not drive short journeys and do not drive aggressively.

yes that seems too often to me. driven 2007 kia carens with dpf for 5 years No problem at all!

Almost identical to mine although I do often drive short distances with the occasional 600km long drives (non-stop).
I've always believed that the circa 200km regens are way too often. Given that the regens themselves run for around 15kms, this regen frequency results in many incomplete regens. Other vehicles seem to regen at around the 300km+ mark.

Hi, I am new to site, so hi everyone, I am currently having an issue with my mazda cx 5 regenerating around 5 times a tankful (approx 550 miles) mazda have asked me to reset the trip meter and take it in to them so that they can see if it is registering on their diagnostic. I don't have an oil issue as far as i can see but the fuel consumption drops dramatically whilst regenerating. my journey is mainly A roads and motorway 40 miles twice a day and hardly any short trips.
