I was watching speedvision last night and the SCCA had a SSC race which is stock neons, saturns, nissans, protege's, and civics. they were slightly modified, suspension and some small engine mods, i think they only allow exhaust.but im not sure. a 99 protege won the championship.. yay.. there was also a guy racing that had a tri-point engineering sticker. anyways i just thought that it was pretty cool and i was wondering if anyone else saw it.

yep..i saw it last night too..pretty sweet..lots of pros in that race...i bought a intake of one of the guys that races in scca..(protosport racing) he said next year (this spring/summer) they are fielding a protege and protege5..sweet...can't wait to see a wagon racing...

Here's the basic rules and info straight from the SCCA for the Showroom Stock Category:
Late model, mass-produced street cars like those bought right off the showroom floor. Modifications are limited to brake pad, exhaust systems, steering wheels and drivers seats. A roll cage and associated safety equipment is required. No car can be more than seven (7) model years old. Classed by performance potential into two classes: SSB and SSC.
Each class has over 30 different cars eligible to compete within that class. SSB is made up of entries like the Nissan 240SX, the VW Golf VR-6 as well as Neon Coupes. SSC is the slowest, but often the most exciting, Showroom Stock class and includes cars such as the Mazda Protege, the Dodge Neon Sedan, the Honda Civic EX Coupe and the Nissan 200SX SER. Many of the drivers in Showroom Stock move up to compete in the SCCA World Challenge Pro Series.
