I was hanging out over at my best friends house and I heard some cars fly by and then set up at the end of the street, so i was like ok let me check this out. so i went over there and there was this kid who hadnt raced yet and he was driving a new civic si hatchback, the thing still had dealer tags on it! so we lined up and started.... he got no jump on me, i held about a car length until i hit 3rd gear.........then it was all over............. i beat his ass by about 4 car lengths!!!!! it was a real fun stock for stock race!
i tell you what, that v-tec did nothing for him or me. turbo all the way baby!!!!!

In my opinnion You should be launching on him by 1 1/2 cars - 2 cars. When I was racing my friends GS-R thats what happened but his gear ratios are so awesome that he reels me right now. This was when the car was stock. I really like how the new civic hatch's look but as far as power wise... wtf they didn't improve it at all. You would think since they increased HP on the rsx-s as opposed to the GS-R... Something wrong happened there I guess maybe they want people to buy the more expensive car? BTW its a I-VTEC now hehe. Nice kill get some mods and you will be smoking them by more than 4 cars.

Wouldn't call it really wasting time. =) It's fun to embrass someone don't u think? I wonder if i should take off the mazdaspeed badge. I would really think that people would say... I don't think it matters. I don't think Mazdaspeeds get respect anyway. Most assume it's slow. Which it kind of is in stock form.

I've been called a "Mazdaslow" by my friend with an V Spec, who BTW, still doesn't have his car after he crashed it 2 weeks into its ownership 2 months ago. What a waste.

I just mention I have a Protege, and then people look at it and are in disblief at all the goodies I have that came standard, on top of the (mini) turbo.

ahh don't u love it when u own a car ? reminded me of my first kill...haha some mofo in a '95 civic w/ a fat fart can wanted to race me...in TRAFFIC ! and i had 4 extra people...he was chasing me so i decided fine, next street i get on i'll OWN u w/ 4 people in the car. so i'm gunning it and get up to 80 uphill and he's still trying to catch up to me. it was hilarious...everyone in my car was laughing so much from the stupid fscker trying to race me...never caught up to me. and I had 400 extra pounds of BALLAST !!! muahahaha...stupid ricer

People in the Honda community have been pretty disappointed with the new SI. They are starting to swap K20a2 (RSX-typeS) engines into the SI to make them quicker.

Anyway, as far as the MSP....last night, I drove my Civic to school. After class, I saw a guy in a newer civic leaving school at the same time. We got on the I and I played with him a little, while eating his civic up! I stopped and talked to him afterwards. When I mentioned I had a Mazdaspeed Protege, he said his friend had an orange one. He said "they are nice cars, but they're slow, and his friend didn't like it because he couldn't really do much with it to make it fast." I've found that it seems the MSP doesn't earn much respect when it comes to the compact car crowd, or atleast the modifying crowd. (my $.o2)
