Dealer survey

I just got a call from a pretty angry salesman over how I filled out the survey I received from MazdaUSA a couple of weeks after the sale.

I was under the impression this survey was confidential in the sense that the dealership/salesman would not know the identiity of the person who filled out the survey. I guess I was wrong.

Now I am a little bit worried about taking my car to this dealership for service as I am sure they have put a 'flag' of some sort on me.

I filled out the survey very honestly and for the most part gave the salesman 7's or so. I am not someone who is going to give someone all 10's unless they go far and beyond what is expected.

I have already written MazdaUSA about this...

So, if you choose to fill out your survey you better give them all 10's......

s*** that sucks to hear, why did you put your real name down?

I give my 'new' dealerhip 10's all the time, but that's because they are really that good. One guy there is just a great guy who leaves no stone unturned when trying to help with a problem. I drive 45 mins each way just to take it to them. They rule. Now my reviews for my car, and Mazda USA, I bash the S**t out of them.
FYI for all the people in the Philly (west/nw) area, North Penn Mazda/VW is great!

RE: your situation Webster, I'd go to the dealership and talk to the sales person, find what his problems with your evaluation are and exlplain why you marked him the way you did, maybe help him improve, as well as show him that calling and badmouthing you will never get that score up. But, i would never take my car back there. Because, like Chris Rock says, "Ya never know!"

I would call the new car manager and speak to him reguarding how your sales person spoke to you, even after the sale. Its important for them to know just how the sales people are treating customers.

And they are supposed to be confidential. I think on the surveys there is a box for you to check so that you may remain that way. I know at our dealership our sales people get rewarded by how their surveys are returned. They get bonus checks, the more good surveys returned the more $$ they get.

Dont feel under him in any way. He cant do anything to you or your car because you gave him a bad survey. If he does you can go so far as to sue the dealership. Remember that they are there to surve you. Even if that means you have to be a total Dick do it. **** him. If he were a better sales person then he wouldnt have this problem.

I put my name on the survey because I believed it was truly confidential to the dealership.

I don't want to call the sales manager either because he and the salesman might very well be brothers and then I am royally screwed.

I am not so much as mad at the dealership as I am at MazdaUSA for not keeping the damn survey confidential. Confidentiality is the MAIN thing that allows surveys to accurately report what is desired.

The aspect of the survey that pissed the salesman off the most is what I wrote in the 'other comments' section. I simply mentioned that the salesman tried playing the old four square game with me. I then stated that most people know this game by now and don't appreciated it when a salesman tries it.

I tried to make it as easy on the salesman as possible. I walked into the delearship knowing the exact car on their lot I wanted along with the printed out Edmunds TMV for the vehicle. I had cash and simply said "That car, this price." No test drive no nothing. He could have simply said OK and had me in and out of there in less than 30 minutes.

those aren't confidential if you put your name. When they come back with anything less than perfect they are forwarded to the service/sales managers for the person to follow up directly with the customer. The amount of importance they put on those dumbass surveys is more than you could possibly imagine. I know this cuz my dad was in car sales and then service manager at dealerships for the better part of 20 years.

I always put all 10's for everything regardless of how s*** my service was cuz otherwise you'll blackball yourself and they'll treat your car like a rental forever. I speak with my $$$ and if a dealership ***** up enough I'll just never go there again. That's how I got the MSP.....the Nissan service dept pissed me off one day so I drove straight from there to the Mazda dealer and traded in the Nissan that same day.....then I wrote a letter to the sales and service managers at Nissan telling them the story and that they lost a Nissan customer for life.

Doesnt matter if they are "bros" or not. If they are going to do their jobs right then the sales manager had better sit down with the punk ass you dealt with and talk to him about it. We have weekly meetings to settle crap like this and when a sales person (or anyone else for that matter) gets out of hand like they did with you they need to be dealt with accordingly. I wouldnt let him get away with calling you up and bitching at you for something you were asked to answer honestly.

they are only anon. of you check the box for that. but i can usually figure out who it is anyway because the sale date is still displayed. ;) mazda gets on the dealers for anything less than 'perfect' scores on the surveys. and if your boss gets s*** from mazda you can bet you'll hear it from him. we don't get any extra money for good scores where i work, would be nice though. he shouldn't call and be rude to you though, if i call someone after it's to find out why they rated me so low (7's = YOU SUCK on these surveys btw) and what they were unhappy with so i learn for the future. oh and you can still read the comments of an anon. survey. the thing i hate most is when you bend over backwards for some one and they give you a bad score (again anything less than 9)

yeah, at my old job no matter how incredible the service was that you gave people still would give like all 9's......I dunnow what you have to do to get good scores......blowjob? I feel on you that one.

The biggest loser in the whole bunch is going to be the dealer's service department since I will be going to the other one across town.

The salesman has cost his service dept some cash...

I honestly doubt that the service dept. would screw me over or anything, but I would still feel somewhat uncomfortable driving onto the dealers lot.

I guess I missed the confidentiality checkbox. Probably because confidentiality is normally opt OUT not opt IN for this type of survey.

My sales guy asked me to put 10 for the survey coz Mazda rates 9 as failure.... I'm not too sure about that as I'm still contemplating whether to fill up the survey or not.... I'm trying to get rid of my extended warranty so I'm just sit on this for a while and see what happens...
